Stanley Steemer Carpet Cleaner

Never, Never, Never use this company. I spoke with someone in the office and told her in great detail what was needed to clean the carpet in my fifth wheel, which was approximately 150 square feet of carpet in the whole thing. I wanted the carpet deodorized, cleaned and scotch guarded. I was told it would be 99 dollars. When the cleaners showed up and started working . They change the price to 200 dollars, stating that is the standard rate. I called the office and spoke with Megan who said, that the price was only a quote and was subject to change and the girl that did the order was new and didn't know. I called back and spoke with the manger who again excused the "accident" by stating the employee was wrong and she would have to speak to her supervisor to see if I could get a refund. This is a classic example of a bait and switch. Please give your business to a reputable company instead of this one.
I will never never hire them to clean my carpeting again. Not only did they clean but they damaged my walls in several spots and then told me their guys didn't do it and I probably did it myself. A month later the damaged wall still is not repaired.
Stanley Steem Cleaners, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again will I hire them. Not only did the guys (Nick and Anthony) damage my walls along the whole hallway, but I the Manager said I probably did it myself. I have told other people NOT to hire them too, unless they want their walls damaged like mine were.
Don't believe the invoice they send prior to their arrival! It's rigged to set you up for paying more once the cleaners get there. I set up my cleaning online and the quote was $480.00. This included all rooms, furniture, rugs, protectants, etc. that I requested to be done. When the cleaners showed up, they told me it would be another $150.00 because the way it was itemized online and sent to me in the e-mail was wrong. I spoke to the supervisor and told him what the previous invoice said, and he said he wouldn't do the job unless I paid the extra $150.00. I said I would pay what the invoice that was sent to me via e-mail itemized. He said the invoice was done incorrectly and that I was responsible to pay more. I sent them away without doing the cleaning.
Called Stanley Steamer out of their "reputation" that was our 1st mistake. I realized we were paying close to double what the "other companies" charged but had higher expectations. 2nd mistake. Guys showed up and parked illegally and when told by management to move they said they were only going to be parked there a few minutes! They hadn't even started our floors! Upon coming into our condo they opened my front door and pushed the deadbolt out for some reason. Being the windy day that it was the door slammed and put a big dent in my door trim, which I noticed after they left. Also they did not put any blocks under my couches that they moved during cleaning. To top it off one of them used our bathroom without asking and left it in disarray with the door shut and the fan on! So gross! Will not be recommending Stanley Steamer to anyone, such a disappointment for a premium price plus damage!
Stanley Steemer of Auburn, WA is attempting to scam my boyfriend and I. We already paid for our service in person and is recorded on a credit card statement. We paid $115 as we paid for the one room carpet clean as well as a 15 enzyme deodorizer. The workers who did the carpet were great. However, after we had already paid, the company again sent us another bill, this time for $99. Claiming that we did not pay our amount. And we had. Again it was actually $115 that we paid. We called the company multiple times to resolve this issue. They asked for a receipt and we sent them a copy of the receipt immediately. They then tried to claim they had returned that amount because there was a glitch in their system around that time. However, we again looked at our credit card statement and this was entirely untrue.
Stanley Steemer required we send an image of our card statement. We paid in person because we do not feel comfortable posting these things through email or online. And it is completely unreasonable to require that for their own mistakes. So, I went through the company's main customer service support chain (rather than just through Auburn) and they said they would try to resolve the issue. They have not contacted us, called us, or responded since. They are holding us entirely liable and responsible for a mistake they made. And on top of everything, they are ignoring us and refusing to help us. We will be sending the image of our bank statement tonight. Never again will we use this company and to avoid scams like this one, I would strongly urge that you don't either.
We will not pay $99 for something we already paid $115 for. And Stanley Steemer will never see our business nor any of my friends' or family's business again. As all of them have agreed that with this situation at hand, they do not want to be held liable or responsible for a company's mistakes.
As for you, Stanley Steemer, I would strongly suggest you start putting your customers at utmost importance and rather than pushing YOUR responsibilities onto them due to mistakes your company created, you handle it in the most professional way in the future. Do not lie with claims that you will help resolve the issue when you have done no such thing and do not push responsibilities onto your future customers. Handle them yourself.
NOTE: I Deleted every poor review I had written in the past on Yelp, Yellowpages, Google, and Facebook when i had contacted the previous customer service agent who promised to help and has done no such thing in a satisfactory manner. I am re-posting as I had promised that if they did not help us, I would re-post the reviews and if they had helped us, I would leave them off. They did not hold up to their word, but I will hold to mine very truly.
Dominic and Trey from Mooresville branch, cleaned two upholster chairs , which are twenty two years old and have never been professionly cleaned before. Although there were no stains or damage to the upholstery, dust was prominent. Original color came to life and they look as good as new. Way above my expections. Highly recommend.
They cleaned carpets and steamed floors. I had a huge job to re-clean floors, sweeping up a full dustpan of debris. In the daylight I saw the marble hall floor was shiny/not shiny in spots. They cleaned again, and then it was mostly dull, with some shiny spots. Then I went into the guest bedroom and discovered that they had damaged an end table.
SS managers decided the cost was for repair for the solid wood end table was high enough for them to make an insurance claim. Over 3 months I was told that it was in the hands of insurance. Their insurance company called me 3 times for info. I tried to get the resolution discussions back to SS. I offered to accept services in lieu of dealing with insurance, since they were not resolving the problem and I was out the repair cost and the extra service charges for bad work.
Then insurance called me, accused me of lying and said I could expect a $200 check which will not pay for the repair. Weeks later I got a check for $150, which I returned.
Do not trust the quoted price!!
The service we received from the State College, PA, Stanley Steemer was above average, but the final price was nearly $100 more than the price I was quoted. Carpet cleaning prices in college towns are competitive, and I was bewildered when our quote of $169+tax turned into a total bill of $260. When I called to inquire about the price difference, the secretary tried to convince me that I should be happy, since "the quoted price included a discount." I had to politely explain that when a discount is applied to a quote but not to the actual cost, there isn't actually a discount, just false advertising.
I pushed for a breakdown of the additional charges, but I only received stammering excuses: "Well, it was, umm, probably umm, $20 extra for...". I'm not convinced that there was any explanation, since evidently there wasn't a detailed record of the additional charges.
I finally realized that logic wouldn't work when the secretary told me "hey, you can't just go to Walmart and get things for free." I said "no, but atleast the price on the tag corresponds to the amount I'll pay." Her response: "Not necessarily."
She hung up on me when I informed her that I wouldn't be using Stanley Steemer's service in the future.
I have worked with a number of carpet and tile cleaning companies over the years and, hands down, this was the absolute worst experience ever.
First, I will tell you that the technicians did a reasonable job cleaning the carpets. No complaints there.
However, the tile and grout were a totally different story. The technicians literally destroyed over 90% of the grout in my home. They left entire sections of tile with no grout and the remainder of the grout looked as if someone had chiseled away at it with a screwdriver.
Then, to add insult to injury, I called the company and spoke with the owner. She was immediately on the defensive and was adamant that her workers could not have damaged the grout. She was completely unwilling to look at before and after pictures. I keep asking her to come up with a reasonable solution. For example, refund the money paid for the tile portion of the work. She said absolutely not. Moreover, she kept yelling and talking over me while I tried to explain the situation and reason with her. Terrible customer service, truly shocking.
A service rep called to say they were running early. I responded that I was 35 minutes away, would leave immediately and the door was open. When I arrived, one was sleeping in the passenger's seat, they sat in the van and didn't step out. I went inside to inspect the cleaning - it was atrocious and not completed. When I asked the cleaner about this - he was confrontational and said he knows what "game" I'm running, and other things I frankly could not understand. It was very uncomfortable. I was there alone with 2 men. I paid the bill and asked them to leave. I called Brian, the manager in Charlottesville. He maintained no one has ever registered a complaint against this employee. NEVER AGAIN will I use Stanley Steamer. There are other far more professional, courteous and trustworthy companies local to the area.
Terrible! Had to cancel 1st time after they stayed too long at previous appt (they fell for the add-on sale). Had written that if job could not be completed by 12pm, I would schedule another day. No response. Dispatcher bold-faced lied to me. Rescheduled for Sat. Late again. Terrible job cleaning the 3 rooms. Wanted to sell me on Scotchgard. I ran my Hoover SteamVac over the spots that still looked dirty two days later. Below is what I got out of the carpet in the living room in front of the windows using just water in the steamvac. And they wanted to Scotchgard on top of that? Bottom line is, they don't take the time to clean it right. Especially if you don't buy their add-ons. And I had already moved all the furniture out of the rooms prior to the first appt! Never again.
Two guys showed up at my door to clean my carpet. They wreaked of last nights liquor and auto grease. It smelled like they hadn't showered for days, and that scent lingered in my house long after they'd gone. Disgusting. You wonder how good a job it could be if they are still hung-over from the night before and don't smell CLEAN themselves!!! GROSS!!!
We live in lower Puna, and were able to get an appointment at our convenience. The service technician arrived right on time and he was very careful with our home. We had a large sectional upholstered sofa (2 sofas worth) and 4 dinette chairs done, and the results were just what we hoped for. We have clean and bright furniture after quite a few years of having neglected it. Highly recommend.
They did a wonderful job cleaning all of our rugs which had lots of juice stains from kids being on the carpet. Will absolutely use them again!
