They called emailed me everyday until I finally said yes to a loan for a little $3000.00, denied.... Wow

Springleaf refuses to honor the disability insurance they sell. I had a loan with them, and got injured and I am unable to work due to a stores neglegence. I am currently in an ongoing lawsuit with this store and have not been released by the dr. to work. I have had my dr. fill out springleafs paperwork several times and still they have come and repoed my collateral. Not to mention the ridiculous loan rates. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and am looking into a lawsuit against them, I just want to inform the public of their unethical practices and hope nobody else has to suffer cause of this faulty company

They aren't the worst place to borrow money from. I had extremely poor credit and was still able to borrow around $5000, mainly for the reason of trying to improve my credit score. They are diligent about reporting your payments to the credit bureaus every month and over the course of my loan, even though most of my payments were around 30 days overdue, I was able to boost my score nearly 100 points. They will call persistently when you're late with payments but, as long as you're up front with them about when you can make your payment, they're usually not too bad to deal with. As with most loans or credit cards, almost all your payments go to interest early on so, if you can pay extra each month, it's important to specify that the extra money go toward the principal of the loan. If you don't request this they'll automatically apply it to the interest and you won't be making any headway paying the loan down. It's a poor business practice but it isn't illegal and nearly all lenders do it, it's how they make their money. It's up to you to be aware of the terms of your loan, how the payments will be applied toward interest and principal, and to make sure that the money you pay goes where it's supposed to. I'd suggest using this place to borrow money only you have no other options but I don't think they're a bad place to do business with as long as you're responsible with your payments and talk openly with them if you're having trouble making a payment. Also, they're usually very willing to renegotiate a loan to lower your payments as long as you do it before your current loan goes 30 days overdue.

This place is a joke. I had two loans with them and paid them off within a year. I try 6 months later after they called me twice in a month to solicit a loan and they turn me down. Oh well, I'm actually glad they did. The interest rates are ridiculous.

Springleaf did not help me becouse i have poor credit. If i had good credit way would i call Springleaf.

Do Not use them, there are other options even if you think there is not there is. Do not use the branch in Tempe Costco Strip Mall. We paid almost all of our loan only $500.00 left, out of the $5000.00 we made with American General at first. Called to say we will pay in 10 days late and will pay full balance Randy said that was fine. 5 days later repo guys at our door and we have to pay $1100 to get it back and if we didn't pay in 10 days they will sell the car. Please whatever you do no do business with them It's like dealing with the devil. Barrow from your 401k at least you only have to pay taxes not a#@holes. NO STARS

my brother's last payment was less than 300.00 and was barely 10 days late and the repo'ed his car and charged him another 275.00. Ohhh did I mention its the week before Christmas.....

I've been paying 50.00 over the minimum for a year and all it went down was 100.00. The paperwork and commission was over 800.00. Your better off going elsewhere.
