Unless you're completely desperate do not put you're loved ones here. The therapists are nice but transient. The manager of the therapy department is useless and won't let you come in to help your family during therapy citing hippa when there are always family members in there. Your loved one will be left in bed for hours and hours with no activities, no stimulation and no help. Do yourself a favor and bring them to the mainland even if you can't get there as often. These people are understaffed and underpaid and as nice as they are (therapy manager excluded) they can't care for your loved one in this miserable place.

I put my mom in plantation key re hab center for a broken hip. she somehow got another fractured hip (after her 1st was repaired) but it was never reported until after the bone had fused. They just over medicated to shut her up as she was in a lot of pain. She developed a stage 4 decub and died from her wound 4 months later. Dr mahoney just pushed more and more medications on to my mother that she had never taken before. I reported then to the agency for health care administration and there were deficiencies found. I wouldn't put my worse enemy in this place unless you can be there 24 hours to watch over them.
