Way above average pricing was really disappointed I stopped in to ask prices and I honestly though he was just joking with me. Sure enough, it really is that bad.

Just my experience thanks!

Doesn't matter when I call them or stop by with a problem no matter what or how busy they are they always get the job done.

I called about the prospect of purchasing the tires online then having the tires put on there. They said bring in proof of the online price and they would not only match it but beat anything I found on-line and would mount for free. After 2.5 hours of waiting for an answer, I was told that it would cost close to $100 over what I was quoted online. And they went on about all the other services they could sell me for my car. VERY, VERY disheartening!! Smacks of a scam.

Scammers and unperfessionals took my car there there was a scrapping going on with my car first he said it was the hub assembly then when he took it apart then it was the front axle so they order the part they tell me it's $140 for the part and $100 for labor . So they go and replace everything but didn't right down labor cost on my receipt and didnt give me the receipt for the part I called around the part was only $60 at AutoZone brand new. So I go up there and then they say labor all of a sudden was 170$ because he took apart my wheel the day before then tell me they don't need hassle like this in there shop and not to come back. Oh btw all I needed was my bearing to be replaced they claim to have low prices but they just up charge and lie to you you're loosening less $$and time with. These people.

replaced-4 new tires & balanced-when needing my air conditioned in the car there was none. I found cover plug in the front of engine

compartment belonging to the air plug low pressure. to get to this plug they tad the tire off- remove screws to bend back a splash guard of the passenger front wheel- so with the tire off they had access to this and bleed my air fluid. called them for service- it would cost me about 300.00 dollars.

they lost my trust- so they will never see me again...................

Took 4 hours longer to get my tires and then they didnt balance them....tried to deny it when i took it i handed them the bill from the balance at the other shop i had to take it to

They over price and do half a## jobs. I would never recommend anyone to go there. ..................................................... ....................

Do not go to Monroe, they overcharged me for A/C charging and refused to work on my exhaust leak, because they weren't sure how to get in there.. like really? There's no way that they are ASE Certified workers. STAY AWAY

Eric R.

I was gonna go here today to get some exhaust work done but after seeing these reviews I think I'll have to pass on that

TRIED TO RIP ME OFF. Wish I had checked here before wasting my Saturday. I wanted to save the time an energy of replacing the manufacturer pads on my Toyota Matrix myself. The Toyota pads (came with car) had not worn down completely and they tried to tell me that rotors ware down quicker than pads and all four rotors needed to be replaced. I asked to see the rotors 3 out of 4 showed hardly any ware and the fourth minor. They also tried to convince me that the calipers were sticking, which they were not. In final they wanted $1600.00 when all I needed was pads.

Took vehicle else where and paid $350, included pads, replacing rear bearings on one side and adjusting the emergency brake. (emergency brakes did not work when I got it back from Monroe.)

Will never go back, and suggest you never go here either.

Had an exhaust pipe that needed to be replaced (Amherst NH). Called around to a few shops and Monroe had the best price (~100 dollars cheaper than a full service mechanic). I checked on line and had a good idea what the retail price would be for the pipes & hangers. Dropped the car off the day before and it was ready ~ 4 pm the following day.

Not sure what happened or why, but they could not re-install the new pipe according to the factory specifications using the proper gaskets so the pipe had to be welded to the catalytic converter. If the cat converter ever needs to be replaced now I'll need to also replace the pipe that was just installed as the fittings on both have been irreversibly damaged (flange cut off of exhaust pipe, stub welded to converter). I was told they tried several gaskets and none fitted properly - even one purportedly purchased from the dealer. Really? My guess is that something got damaged during dis-assembly or otherwise mucked up. Had I known this would happen, I would have taken the vehicle someplace else to get it properly fixed.

ETA 22Nov2014: In response to Brittany's reply to my post, I called the number she listed and left a message. I will update this review once I hear back from her. I Googled Brittany's number and it appears to be linked to a number of negative reviews for various muffler shops around the country.

They are liars and thieves. Will take your time and money. They are SEXIST but that wont stop them. lied to my husband who knows about cars, we went here to save time and stress, but left us outta of a 2nd car longer than promised because of a "mistake" on their part. Charged us for a part that IS NOT INSTALLED in our car.

Bobby M.

First I don't believe in reviews cause people r just mad cause they had to pay for a service. Im sure the individuals writing reviews got an estimate on their repair before work was performed so they knew how much it was to begin with. Most shops try to be within 100.00 if they can and by the way abs system cant be messed up by changing pads and rotors. at the very most u would break a abs sensor at the wheel and it would cost 169.00 at the most for the sensor. Sounds like abs control module was bad which means it was bad when they brought the car in and just trying to get someone else to come up with the 1000 or so

Natalie W.

Please do yourself a favor and AVOID Monro Muffler. I went in for front rotor replacement, and left with a faulty anti-lock brake system. They quoted me $1600-2500 to repair! They repaired my rotors, but damaged the ABS and now my car skids when I press the brakes, and will cost a fortune for them to repair. They claim it's a "coincidence" that the new brake problem occurred IMMEDIATELY after they repaired the original brake problem. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

RUN! In the opposite directio...

RUN! In the opposite direction. If you have to carry your car elsewhere - do it. First, these people promised to fix my car, which they said needed rotors and brakes. COSTLY. Over costly. I got them the parts as agreed-in person-in front of witnesses. Because they said I may be able to save some money-

I saved ALOT-just for the pads. They absolutely REFUSED to do the work. Claimed they NEVER said it. Knowing that I was disabled, my mother is on oxygen, and I have a small child. Also, I brought it elsewhere, and did NOT need a rotor(s). And it was one brake pad that was bad-NOT ALL 4. So I got some money back, too. YAY!

This should truely be negivite...

This should truely be negivite stars but it wont let me.

Went in for an oil change, check engine light and a 30 point safety inspection. What I got was a $850 quote for power steering sensor replacement, power steering flush, diagnostics, brake system flush, brake shoes, brake hardware, brake drums, brake caliber, and they forgot my oils change.

There was also a $38 misc. charge that did not get explained.

Knowing the power steering sensor was anywhere between $20-$40 and an oil changne usually goes for $30 at most I told them to fix the check engine light, do the oil change, and write up the quote for the brakes. $414.73. For the work done.

I did not get a quote for the brakes, all I got was a list of parts.

When I asked about the work they denied any justification and would not support the work for the brakes with the supposed brake test they do on vehicles. When the slips where brought up there where safety test for other vehicles but not mine.

Upon further investigation the shop left my brake calibers exposed, no supposed leakage in the brake lines, no worn brake drums, and no need for repair. I could not double check the sensor due to the fact they cleared my trucks memory, I will also have to wait to get my truck inspected due to the fact my trucks diagnostics have been defaulted.

They CAUSED damage!!

After spending $1800 for them to replace spark plugs, my catalyst converter and a bunch of hoses. I was told it would run "better" once I replaced the bag gas that destroyed everything in the first place. Well 5 tanks of premium gas later I took it to my mechanic back home. Turns out the reason my car still wasn't running properly was because they busted my EGR valve while replacing the spark plugs and everything else. Now I'm out an additional $250 because their mechanics are careless.

Took my vehicle here to get my erratic wipers fixed. After I got my car back the wipers still were not working so I took it back again and also asked them to do the plugs and wires while it was there. They gave us a price quote of under $100 and then when we came to pick it up told us we owed them over $600 in work. They told us it took them 7 hours to do our plugs and wires and had to take out our transmission. After finally liberating my vehicle from these crooks it is completely busted a day later with transmission problems. Now I am $600 in the hole with no car. I cannot believe they can get away with what they did to us.

Best thing I can say about Monro is they have tools

They put the incorrect rotars and brakes on my car

I had taken it back serveral times compaining my car shimmied when the breaks were applied. I was told they did not cut the rotars and that causes a shimmy

A year later, inspection time.

I was told breaks were good, cheapest inspection I had ever been through

Shortly after I take my car to another shop, they find the incorrect rotars and that I have no breaks left at all

Monro never took the tire off to check breaks when they inspected my car

No satisfaction was provided when the manger was contacted as we were told that happens alot
