Metal detector Beware! I tryed to help a family member find a long lost wedding ring at the beach and was unsuccessful due to their lack of knowledge in metal detecting and the outdated equipment they only can provide.I was however successful calling someone that Knew How....Google Wisely!
Based on all of the great reviews, I decided to purchase a metal detector from metaldetector.com. Big mistake. They do not take returns from any opened items. What if you don't like what you purchased once you try it? Too bad you're stuck with it. They speak politely but will not help you. They are very strict on their return policy. Do not buy from this company unless you are sure that you will love what you're buying. You will be stuck with your purchase with no options. If you email them, they take a long time to reply. I waited 5 days before I tried contacting them again.
What a great company.
I want to thank Bill Ladd and Daniel in product support. Both make sure I would be happy.
First off, around a week ago I called in to order a Tesoro DeLeon, the MD I wanted. After getting on the phone to order, I overstated my beach use percentage and the sales person led me to the Makro Racer. Not his fault. All bad on me.
Even after ordering I thought immediately I made a mistake, as I wanted a Tesoro. You see, I am an older man, retired, I like very simple, this would probably be my last detector, and I wanted lifetime warranty, not 2 year warranty. All reviews point to the Tesoro DeLeon being a tough MD. I am a horseshoes and bank fishing type of old man, I need vintage.
After unboxing the Racer, and using it for around 30 min to test it, I was very happy. It's a great all around MD. It will pin point like crazy, light, and accurate and deep. But too complicated for this man. Again, I really wanted simple. Even lost sleep.
So, the next morning I called metaldector.com and talked with the great Bill Ladd. He nicely informed me that full returns are usually only if never unboxed, and since I had used mine, even for 30 min. only, I might have to live with the Racer. I said okay, and would accept my medicine.
However, Bill said, "but since you are a returning customer, and "our customer", let me see what I can do for you." Man oh man, Bill went to work for me.
He contacted product support, he discussed my dilemma with Daniel, and then connected me with Daniel. Daniel discussed with me the same things that Bill said. But in a very gracious way, he said, "I'm going to help you." And he did. Even though they would be taking a small loss on the Racer, Daniel arranged an even swap, allowing me to keep the Pin Pointer that came with the Racer, and also threw in earphones. Wow. Felt like sobbing.
I just wanted everyone to know what a great family company medaldetector.com is to do business with.
I would like to bestow kudos on the fellows at metal detector.com. I had issues with a new XP Deus and they went to work right away to help analyze the problem and determine the fix. Way to go guys. Thank you Moe and the Crew. I am up and swinging now.
I would just like to tell you how impressed I am with your service. I ordered a metal detector about a month ago, and received it in 2 days. Also got a follow up call to see if I had any questions. Just today I ordered a pin pointer. Both items shipped out the same day, and looks like I will have it in my hands in just 2 days. Great service.
The customer service that I received was outstanding! I knew nothing about metal dectors coming in to this but my 7 year old had it as his TOP Christmas wish! As soon as I got on the website Carlos messaged me to see if I needed help. He was VERY helpful and patient with me as I tried to figure out what to do! I HIGHLY recommend them and I truly NEVER leave reviews! In a world where all you do is talk to robots their kind and helpful human customer service was such a welcomed surprise!!
