very disappointing using tru green, they messed up my bill, and did not do as promised, they talk a good game over the phone, but was a different story when it comes to getting my grass to grow. the whole experience was far from what i was told over the phone, no matching grass with what i had already, and seed put down did nothing! no new growth at all. a waste of $300 dollars, that was suppose to be billed monthly, but was billed all at once. not a good thing to have happen when on a tight budget, called tru green and was told we are sorry, but nothing else could be done. good luck with these guys. big promise's but no follow through.
Pretty much what everyone said is true. They do not listen to you and argue with you when they do crappy work. They make big promises when selling to you then you are told they can't do even a fraction of it. They have very poor communication between their customer service and technicians, and in my experience their technicians have elitistic (yes I made that word up :P) personalities. I did not have a problem with them billing me when I canceled them though.
I have used this service in another state and loved it! Not so in Florence, SC. They simply didn't move anything to clean! Rediculous. No refunds but asks that you show his girls how to clean. Um...no thankyou. Not my job. Worst cleaning experience in over 20 years. First bad review ever written for cleaning service but it was that bad. Don't be a victim.
I had TruGreen make an initial visit because they had a special that would allow me to evaluate their work. What a huge emotional disaster! After that initial treatment, I noticed my healthy line tree losing its needles at a record rate from top to bottom and on all sides. I complained to TruGreen. The customer service person explicitly stated that they'd pay for a new tree if it was their fault mine was dying.
The company sent a different technician out. He declared that the tree was dying due to insect infestation. Funny how that "insect infestation" just happened to coincide with their for visit. I fired them on the spot and told them is better not see them remove any more money from my account or I will sue them in small claims court.
That pine tree has a very special meaning to me. I gave it to my mother about 15-20 years ago for Mother's Day. Mom died in 2012. To see her tree die as well breaks my heart and makes me angry. This did not have to happen. TruGreen negligently--or possibly recklessly--murdered a tree with tremendous sentimental value. It was one of the very few part of Mom I had left and those lying, greedy, corporate shills killed it. This has caused me a great deal of pain. This is the first time I've been able to go in my backyard to look at it for weeks! It is ugly and over 1/3 brown. Since we have woodpeckers all over the place, I would have seen or heard them in the tree eating away at the imaginary "insects." I have heard nary a peep!
While TruGreen is succeeding in killing a precious tree, it was quite UNsuccessful in killing the weeds. They are still here, barely bowed. The customer service person who scheduled the initial visit kept trying to sell me additional packages I didn't want; he was pushy; the cost estimate was based on satellite images that are, at least for this property, so covered with trees that the property boundaries are practically impossible to gauge.
DO NOT GO *NEAR* TRUGREEN! They are greedy, dishonest, incompetent and heartless. They have taken one of the few remaining pieces of my deceased mother and killed it without looking back. I wish I could give them -10 stars.
I was surprised to hear that txsgrl10 was rudely told Merry Maids did not handle her area. When I called, a computer voice answered, asked for my zip code, and for a computer, was very politely told, "I'm sorry, we do not handle that area." I've used Merry Maids in the past and have never had better service in Pennsylvania, Maryland or Florida.
