Established in 1981. Founded in Atlanta by George McKerrow, Jr., LongHorn Steakhouse began with one man's passion for perfect steak but very few guests to convince. Then a freak snowstorm hit Atlanta in 1982, stranding motorists and drawing them to one of the only hospitable places available - a restaurant then called LongHorn Steaks Restaurant & Saloon. Waitress was great. The drinks are a joke- nothing like the advertised photo. Asked for another one and got the manager ( was nice but) telling me they only can put a certain amount in - tasted like $9 fruit punch mixed with frozen fruits . Dinner was something you can get from home. Nothing special. Don't plan on going back.
My wife and I dined at the South Jordan, Utah restaurant Saturday night. I was very disappointed with the overall experience. First the salad of mixed greens was meager at best, and consisted of iceberg lettuce, carrots and leaf lettuce. I ordered the Prime Rib, rare which I was informed I couldn't get. Medium rare was least cooked I could get. It came and was Medium rare however, it lacked any kind of seasoning. It came french fries (frozen not hand cut) and a disappointing horseradish cream (made of mayo, sour cream and a small amount of horseradish). very disappointed with the whole experience. Won't be back!
Food was okay, ordered the outlaw ribeye, most expensive steak, there was bone all though it & mostly fat. Had to ask 4 more dressing 4 wife's salad, recommended but not good. The bartenders were nice,we ate at the bar,what ruined a very rare evening out for us was that the couple next to us were feeding each other,licking each other's fingers & making out at the bar occupied by several people. Then they started singing & nothing said to this couple at all for having the ill manners they were displaying,had nothing to do with that this was a lesbian couple but it didn't help things either,any couple should have manners in a public restaurant,save that for later. It seemed as though they were going out of their way for shock value. Whether straight or gay couple, eat your food & don't spoil the evening for others. You don't pay $80 for 2 people to eat out to have to deal with this, & it makes your restaurant appear low class. first visit and my last visit based on food & atmosphere.
