I went into purchase car and they told me that they would give me one price for my car trade in and then when found out they were offering lower price on car that I was wanting to purchase they told me could not do that with value. Felt pressured to purchase vehicle.
John Hinderer Honda is not the upmost fit car dealership in the Columbus area. I am currently a college student who has just purchased his first vehicle from John Hinderer Honda and it could not have been a more worse purchase that i have ever made. The vehicle had two massive oil leaks, a slipping transmission, and ever since its purchase more and more problems arise everyday amazingly. They deny these problems and refuse to help in any manor. Due to the fact that i have to pay for these problems out of my pocket, i will be unable to attend college next semester. Thank you John Hinderer.
I will never purchase anything from you again.
I recently purchased a pre-owned honda fron john hinderer. I was in the market for a new or pre-owned car. Melissa Keith was my sales person, and was fantastic. She Listened to my needs in a car, and did a better job communicating w/me than other sales people at any of the other dealerships. Also, i was able to have honest discussions on price; it is amazing how many dealerships will not communicate price; john hinderer was great to deal with. Finally, all of the other sales people were happy to assist me when Melissa was not available (Christopher & jonathan). I would definitely buy at john hinderer again.
I have looked for car for a few weeks now. I found their selection was really good and prices were comparable. The sales staff were easy to work with and helpful. I am really enjoying my new car and would recommend the dealer. Kyle was very informative and allowed me to drive several cars before I decide on the one I wanted to buy.
When contacting the internet department I was not pleased. They took over a week to get pictures of the automobile I was interested in. I finally received the pictures and liked what I saw. I then went to the dealership and the sales staff made up for the disappointments I had with internet department. I was greeted quickly when I walked in by salesperson Carol Thomas and was on a test drive in approx 20 mins. They were very open to dealing with the price of my trade and price of the car instead of the "take it or leave it" attitude that a lot of dealerships have now. The finance guy(can't remember his name) was also great to deal with and found me the best rate possible for my loan. I am very happy with my Ridgeline and have had no problems. Carol Thomas has been good about following up on the sale and making sure I am happy with my purchase. Carol and the finance guy had a "real" approach. They were very friendly, but not in the "fake friendly" way that most dealerships are today. They just had a real, yet professional approach to me. Carol has not been doing sales very long, but will be successful for a long time with her friendly personality and her approach to sales. Thank you.
My purchase experience was the least stressfull of my vehicle purchase over the last 20 years. The sales representative and the gentleman that completed the paper work with me were great to deal with. I am a Honda Goldwing rider so I am familiar with Hinderer Honda
I have known John Hinderer for more than 30 years and have dealt with him as he moved through his career. I have always found John to be one of the most honest, dedicated people I have ever known, extremely resourceful and steeped in the concepts of modern marketing; it's all about building mutually-beneficial relationships with customers.
I cannot conceive of a situation where John would deceive anyone about anything. And, if someone has problem with any of John's personnel, I know he would want to know so that he could immediately remedy it.
John did not build his successful career by slighting anyone, or taking advantage of anyone; he built it by extraordinary hard work.
That John has developed Hinderer Honda into the successful business that it is, with an outstanding dedication to customer service, does not surprise me in the least. John is one area native that learned long ago that hard work and dedication -- not cutting corners or providing less than the best -- is the only way to go.
BUYER BEWARE. BEWARE THESE PEOPLE WILL LIE TO YOU, PROMISE THINGS THEY DO NOT DELIVER AND WILL NOT HONOR A SINGLE THING THEY TELL YOU.
I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR FROM THEM NOR WILL I GO BACK THERE FOR SERVICE ON MY CAR.
This was our third car purchase from them. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THEM SINCE, maybe because this one was a used car and not a new one??. First they said that they couldn't give me a loan for the car because of my credit - I took the car to our bank to find out that I couldn't get a loan for the car because they were ASKING MORE FOR IT THAN WHAT IT WAS WORTH and there was NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR CREDIT. When I came back from the bank and gave them THAT information they were more willing to negotiate a better price until I got in the office to sign the loan documents. The loan agent kept trying to add items into the loan that I didn't want. When I got upset and left, the owner, Mr. Hinderer, came out to our car and asked me to come back into his office and he would have the loan office finish the loan with the agreed to terms and he would throw in "free tires for life" (BIG MISTATE - I SHOULD HAVE DROVE OFF AS FAST AS I COULD).
Since then, I took the car in for things that should be fixed under the certified car warranty and was always told that the items were not covered. I also took the car in for service everytime it needed service. WELL TODAY when I took the car in for my "free tires for life" I was told I didn't have the tires rotate two of the times it was brought in so I am no longer in their "free tires for life" program. OH, BY THE WAY, I WAITED TWO HOURS FOR THEM TO DECIDE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPLACE MY TIRES AND THEN WAITED OVER 35 MINUTES FOR THEM TO COME PICK ME UP SO I COULD GET MY CAR BACK. I ALSO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE - SO WHY DID THEY HAD ME DRIVE OVER 1 HOUR TO THEIR STORE TO BE TOLD THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HONOR THEIR PROMISE.
I feel they should have been doing what services were required when I brought the car in or at least telling me it needed to be done. I also feel
Mr. Hinderer or anyone else should have disclose to me that I had to have the tires rotated after every 5000 miles OR IS IT 6000 MILES - because I was given a different amount today - ONE BY THE OWNER AND THE OTHER AMOUNT BY THE SERVICE MANAGER. I was also shown a form that I was attached to the "free tires for life" form that signed. THIS FORM WAS NEVER GIVEN TO ME - I WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATES EVERY 6000 MILES.
