Hello,

Thanks for all the great comments that our customers have written for us. The mall is closing January 31, 2014 and we will be moving to our new location February 1 & 2, and will reopen on the 3rd. Our new address will be 19 Westridge Marketplace Candler, NC 28715. This new place will be about 6 minutes from where our shop is currently located and is 4000 square feet so we will still have lots of room.

Thanks again, and I hope to see you you soon,

Lisa Mackey

I visited as a novice knitter, and was blown away! Prepare to sit on the sofa for a bit and take it all in before you actually shop, or your brain will explode. There are so many colors, textures, and different fibers and accessaries, it is impossible to take in all at once. The staff will help you find everything you need. It was such a great experience!

Close to Food Court in Biltmor...

Close to Food Court in Biltmore Square Mall. I've been to many stores in this area & nobody comes close to Friends & Fiberworks. If you don't knit, still go in. They have a beautiful selection of quality, unique handmade upscale-boutique style sweaters for sale at the same prices for styles I bought in the late 90's in Philadelphia, hats, scarves, shawls, even a baby sweater! They excel in selection of materials, have multiple unique classes, books, patterns. Over 100 one-of-a-kind handmade buttons in singles or sets from a NC artist. These buttons will inspire you to pick a yarn to match & create something beautiful (or I was even thinking about using them as embellishments for scrapbooking, cardmaking, shadowbox display), they have a Sit & Knit night, a Spinning Night. They even have Knifty Knitters type looms for those of us who are having trouble getting the hang of knitting needles (and have offered a class on these looms). Also some people have arthiritis in their hands are able to accomplish knitting with this type product. This is the knitting store I'v been looking for and a bonus are the styles of sweaters I love & miss from the boutique in Philly! They have a lot of items to offer in the space they have - you really just have to visit, make a couple passes around the store take everything in to get an idea of what they carry. We all need to tell our friends about this hidden jewel in NC that far surpasses any customer service & selection compared to other yarn stores.
