Cool pub with a giant selection of specialty beers to choose from. Not really a family restaurant, more of a bar/adult pub. Their food is decent, it's like a German American type food options.

The Flying Saucer has taken a turn for the worse over the past months. For years The Saucer has been one of the best bars in Nashville for beer lovers although either due to management or policy changes it's really turned into just another chain. Indifferent, slow service. Rude doorman taking your cover charge. You read correctly, there's a cover charge to enter a bar! This isn't LA, it's Nashville. This is just a bar! Did I mention that you pay to park? There is a discount from The Saucer but don't expect change from the parking pay machine. Half of the time you get ripped off. This city is full of cool bars so my advise is to find a non chain and really see what Nashville has to offer.
I have been a customer of the Flying Saucers for approximately 10-years. I joind their UFO Club about 2-years ago. I have 2-plates and I am half way to my 3rd. I have easily spent over $4,000 in this establishment. I have introduced dozens of my friends to the Saucer and many of them have become UFO Club members.
Now, I am a 10-year Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Military/Veterans Motorcycle Club. In our MC, we wear a leather vest emblazened with an American Flag, POW/MIA patch, an Eagle, the branch of service we served in, and the name of our MC. This vest is commonly refered to as "Colors". As I wore a uniform in the Military, this vest is now my uniform, and I am extremely proud to wear it.
Last Friday, I went to the Saucer for lunch, as I often do, wearing my vest. After I placed my order at the bar, a manager approached me and said, "We don't allow Colors in here anymore". When I began to question the manager, he said, "If you take it off and leave it outside, then you can stay". As in the Military, I would not take my uniform off in order to enter an establishment, so nor would I do so now. Needless to say, I left.
Following the incident, members of my organization made inquiries into this new policy. At that time the General Manager, Brandy Allen, fabricated lies about our members stating that we had "Intimidated and harrassed staff", "intimidated and harrassed other patrons", and "caused property damage". She then claimed that we are still welcome at the Flying Saucer, we just can't wear our Colors.
If a person commits these types of infractions in an establishment, would you ban the person, or their clothing? It sounds more like Ms. Allen is prejudice against either Veterans or Bikers ... or both.

I absolutely love going to the Saucer. It's a great place to hang with friends. The dart and billiard room is my favorite during the week because it cozy. On the weekends, it's quite smokey in there though. The cigar room has a great vibe too. The main area is great for watching football games. The whole place seems to be fixated and engaging together. The beer selection is great. Love that the beer special of the day changes. It was Magic Hat #9 last night. It can be hard to find a seat when it fills up, so go early and go often.

On October 10th 2010 my group of friends and I went to the Flying Saucer like we do every second Sunday of the month. We got there around 2pm and started to drink and eat like normal. Somewhere around 3-3:30pm we were approached by a woman who identified herself as Brandy the General Manager. She then proceeded to yell at us for cuddling up on the couches, told us we weren't welcome, cussed at us and all but told us to leave. She proceeded to throw down a coaster that had the company website information on it so we could file a complaint and walked off. Several members of our group tried to get her to come back so they could talk to her and figure out what happened but she refused to talk to anyone. We asked our waitress what was going on and she said she had no idea and that she loved having us there. And I don't know why she wouldn't. We come in, stay for hours drinking and eating and between the 15-30 people who usually show up, spend a great deal of money. We all paid our checks and started to walk out and Brandy was standing by the door and as we walked by made a point to say ""Oh and you're not welcome back."" This experience was completely ridiculous and I can't understand why any of it happened. But needless to say, none of us will ever be returning to this establishment with management like this.

I had the unfortunate experience of visiting this establishment for the first time on Saturday evening. I won't go into all of the details because there is a character limit and I will be writing out the details in my email to the corporate office. But, I will say that I have never encountered such unfriendly, horrible service in my life. My party and I were treated like flies at a picnic as if we were disgusting, unwelcomed insects. We endured two rude staff members and general chaos to find a seat but we drew the line when our waitress told a member of our party ""don't f**k with me"". I think I should also mention that we were not drunk and not disrespectful to the staff in any way. When we brought our issues to the manager's attention, she explained to us that they were ""very busy"" and the staff was probably just stressed. That's not going to cut it. So, if you want to be treated like a major inconvenience, this is your kind of bar.

Went to the Flying Saucer today and could not believe the multitude of beer choices from all over the world. Over 200 beers and the staff new every one of them. I told them what I usually drank and they set me and my girl up with some awesome brews. The staff was friendly, the place had character and the beer was cold. I highly recommend going to this establishment if you like beer. Oh, and the prices were very resonable. Great place.
