Thanks for the AWESOME boat lift!!! We were sick of dealing with the lift that someone else installed. Called Dr Dock and they hooked us up with a stellar custom lift that requires zero maintenance. Works perfect every time. We especially like the wireless remote control.

Overall

Great Dock Building Company!

When Dr. Dock came and met with us to look at our project both my husband and I were extremely impressed with Scott. He was very professional and helped us decide what we needed just by asking a few questions. Before he left he had rough sketched a floor plan that suited us perfectly.

There was three things that we were not expecting when we began researching the dock project. These may come across negative so I will explain in detail beneath each item.

One - the price of a dock.

Ok so not having been around water or ever had a dock built before. We were not expecting the price. But after investing a significant amount of time into researching our options in dock builders and their prices. It became clear to whom we should use. Half of the other guys we called either never returned our message or didn't even bother to show up to the appointment! I could go on, but I will just say we were frustrated by all the other guys. So before I went of on that rant. I was stating that we were surprised by the price. But after receiving multiple bids we realized that we needed to adjust our budget. Once that was done we took the time to go look at the different docks built by each one of the companies we were considering. Well I can tell you that we were already leaning towards Dr. dock but once we saw their quality, WOW what a difference!! As far as I am concerned dr dock has no competition.

Two - How long the permitting process would take.

Well its the government. What else can I say, they take their jolly good ol time. Dr Dock helped prepare all our permit paperwork and plans. If you are reading this, then I advise you to let dr dock help you. I've had friends that tried to do it themselves and it took them 6 months to get it approved.

Three - Having to wait for our dock

Well we were under the delusion that we would have our dock a month or two after we made the decision for Dr. dock. Boy were we wrong! Well after the permit took a month and a half through TVa and another month through army corps. we still had to wait for another month and a half for our dock to start. Even though we were frustrated at loosing most of the boating season we don't regret waiting now. Dr. Dock is obviously good at what he does and in high demand. When we signed contracts and submitted the tva paperwork dr dock put us on the schedule. I thought they would be way off the mark on timing. I mean how can you know exactly how long each project will take and

how many rain days to account for? I don't know how they can plan for all the unknowns, but they came and started our dock a week before we had been scheduled all along.

So in summery,

I felt compelled to pass along our great experience to others. Nowadays it seems that all I hear about is negative this and hateful that. It is refreshing to complete a project and be completely happy with the finished project and still be on great terms with the contractor.

Thanks for taking the time to read this review. And happy boating to all!
