Great Experience

We used Joe and his team to complete a conversion from propane to natural gas. It included two furnaces, a water heater, gas stove, and gas logs.

The process was as easy as possible. They came on time, were very professional, and made the experience downright pleasant.

I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Great Experience-On Time, Courteous, & Professional Customer

My dryer wasn't drying the clothes in one cycle, but was taking several. We thought it may be the heating element going bad. My husband saw this company on city-search. Yes, there is one negative review,but there were so many positive reveiws that followed. He gave them a call on Tuesday and the appointment was at 9:30 Friday morning. I was off that day and figured they would show up around 10:00 or later. Have you ever had a repair service be on time? They were at my home at 9:30 as promised. Amazing! Two gentlemen came into my home. I explained the reason for the calI and asked if they were with a large national company. Joe kindly replied ,this was his business. I was very pleased knowing I was dealing directly with the owner. In just a few minutes, I felt extremely comfortable, as if talking to an old friend, and was confident about there abilities. They closely inspected the dryer, checking temperatures and hoses. Joe then informed me my dryer was fine but I had another problem. He said my dryer duct was probably clogged with several years of lint buildup and explained the change in my dryers performance. They did not just take the money and run. Instead, Joe showed real concern about the problem and informed me how dangerous this situation was. He took time to educated me regarding the strong possibility of a house fire and how common this was.He gave me the names of websites to view so I too would take this matter as serious as he did. He then referred me to a local service specializing with dryer ducts. I am very grateful for his honestly and concern for my families well being. It's nice to know that there are still some people who practice great customer service. THANK YOU!!! Still not convinced to call them-after the visit I went to their website. Joe has a degree in Elecrical Engineering & HVAC, EPA certification, and has lived in the area for years.

They came on the same day, quickly determined our washer problem, had the part and replaced the water pump all in about 30 minutes. They were clean and very courtious.

I called Advance Appliance and was referred to the company's son since there would be a long wait. I called and made an appointment and Brandon arrived in a personal car with his girlfriend who stood by him the entire time he looked at my washer and dryer. When I asked him a question, she answered. He was unable to repair my washer and then they left to get a belt to repair my dryer. They were gone so long I thought they were not coming back. When they returned he repaired the belt and then his girlfriend wrote out an outrageous bill that included a huge service charge, outrageous labor without an explanation of an hourly fee, and a part charge with no receipt. I told them I thought the bill was high and she was adamant that it was a customary charge. I cannot see how you can charge company rates when you come in your car and bring your girlfriend with you. I later found out that my washer was under warranty and wanted to speak with Brandon about refunding some of the money and getting it from the warranty. Needless to say the girlfriend answered the phone and told me that Brandon was not available to speak with me. She reported that she would discuss my situation with him, but I never received a call back. Stay away from these people, I think they must have written the good reviews themselves.

Holy Cow! This is how customer service should be...

I'm still stunned at how opposite this experience was from all other repairs. I had been fighting with Sears for weeks and they had screwed up in any number of ways. Out of shear frustration I fired Sears and found these guys instead.

They called me to confirm more than once. They arrived 30-minutes early, but called first to ask if it was okay. When they got here, they started from the most logical place and diagnosed a very complex problem in about 20 minutes. They were so careful with my very heavy machine, and tried many things to rule out any other possibilities. After they replaced the part, they tested the machine thoroughly and then charged me $20 less than the original price of the repair.

I remember customer service being like this when I was a kid, but thought that business model had long left our culture. This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend them to anyone.

And don't let their ages fool you, Shaun and Hannah are young, but far more competent than the Sears repair folks who were twice their age. Bravo!

GREAT Experience

As a single woman it is always comforting to find a great repair service that is honest, too the point, and has reasonable prices. An added bonus was it was a Christian based company. I noticed my freeze was not getting cold enough - i read the reviews and took a chance and called Advance Appliance. I made my repair request online via their website and was present surprised to get a call first thing this morning by the owner, Joe. He advised that someone would be in touch with me soon to make arrangements. I received a very nice gentleman (Tony) that arrived and was very courteous and nice. He was new, but seemed very intelligent and taught me what to look for and made sure i understood what he was doing at each part of the diagnostic. I felt bad because my fridge gave him a fit and took alot longer than he thought, but he was alwasy nice and courteous. Hands down I will be calling them again for any and all repairs and have nothing but GREAT things to say about them.

I feel like i've discovered treasure...Wow, how satisfying it is to feel like your repair guy is actually honest and trustworthy, skilled enough to figure out what's wrong and fix it, and friendly too! I'll be saving Joe and this company's contact info for future use.

First rate - worth every penny

I live in N. Raleigh. in a house new to me. I tested the dishwasher after a few months because I never use it but wanted to make sure it worked. The electric seemed fine but no water would come in. I checked the water line myself; it seemed fine. I called Advanced because of the good reviews. I had a visit from Joe and Shaun ,on time and courteous. They found a simple thing in five minutes. Someone else might have taken forever to run the clock. They even had the small part I needed drop-shipped to me so I could simply put it in with no tools myself and avoid more money for a service call to do something really simple. Use these folks!!

I had a repair done 2 weeks ago for a capacitor replacement and was grossly overcharged by another company. I found this website through CitySearch and wished I had called them initially. Shaun came this morning and said the capacitor was about to break down because it was wired incorrectly. He replaced the part and installed a new bracket for it. Then he checked out the unit. Shaun and is very professional and reputable. I would highly recommend this business to anyone.

Discovered this family business on City Search and opted to use them after reading excellent reviews.

Got same-day service on repairs of both washer and dishwasher.

While there is a service call fee as well as a fee for each repair, these are significantly less than a national department store chain wanted for repairs on their store brand appliances.

Would definitely recommend this family company and know that when the inevitable day arrives that another appliance need repair, will be calling them.

Honest, trustworthy, reliable, efficient

As someone transplanted into the Raleigh-Durham area, I feel so blessed to have found Joe, Shaun, Donna and team at Advanced Appliance & Air.

They are company of integrity who will tell you the truth. Regardless of whether you need $100 of work or $5,000 of work, their attention and customer service is amazing.

I have had Shaun out for a minor fix on my AC unit and was so pleased that when my parents needed a brand new system (much bigger job) I knew EXACTLY who to call. The folks at Advanced Appliance & Air prescribe exactly what you need... and nothing more.

I'll never call another company or repair chain again for HVAC or appliance needs! These folks are the BEST!

They get 'er done!

We have a new Whirlpool frontload washer and no one could solve its problem. Even checked the internet and although many people had the same issue, after a lot of repair expenses, it went unsolved; but Joe and Donna worked hard and figured it out. Have not had an issue since. They are not only professional and honest, they are good people. Worth the extra expense. We will call them first every time.

My twenty-five-year-old oven's baking element died recently. I checked out several appliance repair businesses, but they expected me to wait a week before they could get to me. Then I read the raves about Advanced Appliance on City Search and called them. They gave me an appointment one day later at 4 p.m., and my doorbell rang at 4:00 exactly. The repairman was friendly , knowledgeable, and fast. The work is guaranteed for a year, so I feel entirely comfortable. Would I call Advanced Appliance again? You bet! I hope I don't need appliance repairs again any time soon, but when I do, this is the business I will call without hesitation.

Joe Rocks!

I called Joe based on the reviews I saw on CitySearch when my washing machine bit the dust. Joe and Donna called us back immediately and scheduled a day to come do the repairs. We experienced no issues with calling us back.

Unfortunately the repair wasn't as easy as Joe, and I, had hoped as the part was only half of the needed fix. Joe was determined to find the root cause of the issue. His perseverance in researching to find the true issue was most impressive. It's obvious he's an engineer! It was also most appreciated as I am unemployed and can not afford a new machine right now.

Joe did the repairs and I am washing once again.

What a great guy and a what a wonderful customer- oriented business!

Had ice maker issue with two year old fridge (typical!). Was putting out ice but not dispensing ice thru the door. So looking online, I read reviews and AAAR stood out. Read my review and read the others and I think you will find a common theme that we also experienced (see ""Pro's"" above).

Called once and it took a follow-up call a few days later to finally get in touch, but always friendly and courteous from start to finish. Like I said, they are in demand so it may take an extra day but its worth it for the honesty and ease of working with this family business.

Installed small $30 part (had to order and come back to install) and done. Didn't take advantage of a situation and report a more serious issue for some profitability.

Nice people. Quality service. Knowledgeable. Honesty. I know, its strange these days but you wont be let down if you use them.

I called Advanced Appliance to fix a range and repair an HVAC problem. These are the nicest guys I have ever met. Joe, the owner, exudes a sense of calm and peace. He knows what he is doing and he and his wife are good honest people. Their charges are very reasonable and I never had the feeling that he was taking me for a ride, like some others that I have called. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone that needs repairs in this area.

Fabulous Service! Fair Pricing - Did exactly what they promised - Will Definitely Use Again

I have used a couple of the Nationally known Appliance Repair companies in the past and though their work has been good, their charges have been incredibly high and so I decided to check online for a local company. Seeing the good reviews on City Search for Adanced Appliance and Air..I decided to give them a try and am very glad that I did. My tenant had a problem with the dishwasher not working. As a landlord, you want to know that your tenant will be taken care of and the problem rectified as soon as possible with as little inconvenience to the tenant as possible and at a fair price. Advance arranged the appointment directly with the Tenant and then let me know when it was scheduled. They showed up on time and tood care of the problem and called me to let me know what they found and what the charges were (and of course to arrange payment!). It is great to know that there is a company I can count on for Appliance Repair .... I will definitely use them again!

Wonderful Service!!

I called Advance to repair a washer that wasn't spinning. The family came out - wonderful and honest people - fixed it immediately and fixed a disposal problem with the sink that I didn't even mention on the phone! Very competent, nice and reliable business - price was awesome and less than I expected. I would recommend them to anyone! Thanks for the great work!
