I truly regret our purchase of an Acorn chair lift. Before we made our purchase we told the representative that our concern with buying a lift at this time was that we would be moving soon... the rep replied that,” it’s not an issue, we deal with this all of the time, all that we would have to pay was $250 to have it removed, and another $250 for installation and possibly a little more if modifications were necessary to get it into the new home”… We called today and were told that it would cost $400 for a guy to come out and even look and it and then an additional $1000 to install it minimum we may have to pay to, “update our equipment”. And pay a lot more on top of that … . $6000 wasn’t enough..after contacting the bbb On 11 May 2018 a representative from Acorn did come to our home for this "curtesy check", when the gentleman arrived he was very professional with us but he was very confused about the work order; and wondered if we could explain why he was there... my wife explained the whole situation that a Jennifer from acorn had made a deal with us that if we were to trade or, "donate", a portion of our stair lift that the work may be done for free(this conversation was with me)... Prior to the arrival of the tech, I did some research and according to a friend who used to install these lifts the rail that we would be getting is priced at approximately $900 and the parts that we would be giving up cost app $3000 so in essence I would be paying $2100 to install After everything was explained to the technician made a few calls and the conclusion was there was nothing that he could do....
.Being honest if we would not have been lied to by our original rep who knew we were going to move and told us how simple the process was to move it. We would have waited to buy the lift until we moved, as we told the sales person, but they lied to get the sale.
at the end of the month. apparently they are in the business of ripping off disabled people and their veteran son.
