Protect Your Home - ADT Authorized Dealer
our house was broken into 3 days after the install of the alarm. The tech. did not hook up the alarm system siren. All our TV's were taken along with my kids PS3 and several other items. The tech. was suspended for 3 days and was then back to work. I filed a law suit against this company and we are just waiting for the laywers to come to an agreement.
please check the B.B.B.
First, they promise you a 'free' system, but by the time they draw it up as the 'recommended' solution, it's a thousand dollars or more. They try to shame you into taking the recommended for full family protection, but if you tell them 'no', they start taking parts off to get down t a lower amount. I was desperate to have a working system ASAP since the house would be undergoing renovations for a month and there would be appliances, drywall, etc. left in the house with no one there to protect it. So I went ahead.
My system was installed by a Defenders office in (I believe ) Anaheim, CA a little over a month ago. First one of the control panels failed - it started arming itself over and over - all by itself. I called ADT customer service who determined the wireless unit had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. They connected me into a phone queue for Defenders (The guys that installed it). When the system finally connected me, they hung up. Now I don’t know if it was a system issue or people nearing the end of shift and didn’t want to take another call, but it has happened several times. A few weeks passed, since I still had one working panel, I was at least ok until I could get Defenders to answer their phone.
However, my MAIN panel developed a permanent fault about a week ago, so now BOTH my units are defective. I again called ADT customer service on May 9th, who again put me in Queue for Defenders, and AGAIN, the phone system dropped me. I have many other things to do, so have been unable to call again until this morning, May 16th. This time, I insisted ADT customer service remain on the line until I was actually connected with Defenders. So I finally got Defenders on the phone live. But here’s where the FUN begins!
Defenders advised me they could not come out for two weeks from today. TWO WEEKS for a non-functioning system! And then the other shoe dropped - They will only come out Monday-Friday 8-5 - you know, the time when most people are at work. And No weekends either! I find this interesting, since my installer had no problem working to install my system between 5 and 8 PM. But I guess there is no sales commission for repairs to a clearly troublesome system. And on top of that, the agents I spoke with were completely uncaring. At this point, I still have a non-functioning system, have had for 3+ weeks, and since I cannot take off from work, will have for the foreseeable future.
HORRIBLE customer service. Couldn't care less about you once you're under contract!
Ha! Ha!
Yeah, these guys stink. It's funny to think that the only people I should have ever worried about robbing me where ADT itself.
These guys are just bad news.
Buyer beware. This is a THIRD PARTY PROVIDER of ADT Services. The technician that comes out to your home works for a different company than the person you sign up with on the phone. They quoted me one price on the phone, then drew up a contract with a different price. Since I called in to sign up for service, my name was on the contract. However, they made my wife sign the contract and that's when they put down a different price. I find that to be extremely deceptive. Be very careful with this company.
Protect your home ran my credit and charged my checking account 104 dollars without my permission. I had ADT many years ago and was happy with them. We just purchased another home and I receieved a information in the mail from protect your home so I called. They pulled my social with an old phone number that I provided them (only to show I had ADT in the past). I got a credit alert yesterday. Today I learned, they took 104 dollars out of my checking account. I never provided the account information to them and I have no idea how they got it. We are on an extremely tight budget and that money was for the move. Now my lease is up in 9 days and I can’t pay the movers. I would never go with ADT again just because they have people like this representing them. I am very unhappy.
I was shocked by the awful service that this company did for me. They showed up almost an hour late to my scheduled appointment time and claimed my system wouldn't work unless I purchased another really expensive component. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience. If anyone is still considering an ADT security system I would strongly recommend getting in touch with the national sales center, they're much more professional and respectful: 877-626-2281
Be careful when dealing with Protect Your Home. Defender Direct evidently did the minimal install. They offer this "great" offer to hook up your home to ADT. Well, they do hook you up, but in my case, with the minimal protection. They are an authorized dealer of ADT. My home has 3 entry door connections, 1 motion detector and a keypad. There is no siren on the home. So, if someone were to break into my home, they would not even know that they had tripped the alarm until they were In the home as the warning comes out of the keypad, which is not even that loud. They wanted over $2300. to secure my windows which I couldn't afford. My friend used ADT for installation directly, and they have motion detectors in every room, glass break on every window, a siren on the outside of the home, and all for no additional charge. Now, my contract with Protect Your Home has been sold to ADT. ADT was going to come out after I called them and the person said let us see what you can do. When the person called me to say they were on their way, they said they could not do anything for free. I am wasting my money on the monthly monitoring fee for 3 years on a home that isn't secure. This was a big rip off. I made a big mistake. Don't make the same mistake. I cannot wait for my contract with ADT to be over so I can go with another company. I am sure I am not the only ADT customer that has had this happen. Why ADT would allow this "authorized dealer" to operate in this manner is all about money and no concern for their customers. Once you realize you aren't protected, it is to late unless you are willing to pay a lot of money to secure your home. BEWARE!!! They are bigger rip offs than would be burglars!
ADT is NO GOOD....Run if you can. There staff is rude and dirty! And their customer service is so bad.
I had these guys out last week. Our installer Chris was very helpful at making sure we were all set up and protected. He spent several hours with us making sure we knew exactly how to work every part of the system. He was really concerned with our safety and called us back yesterday to see how the new alarm was working- talk about a pro!
We had broadview / Brinks for years. We were extremely satisfied with their service. ADT bought them out and it has been a nightmare ever since. I guess now that ADT has a virtual monopoly on the market, they feel they don't have to do a thing. I can't tell you how many times we were told 'someone would call us back' and no one ever did. We will now be looking for another service - any other service.
This is NOT a local security company and is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. This is an out-of-state marketing company (i.e. "call center") that will try to sell you an alarm system over the telephone using high-pressure sales tactics. Buyer Beware !!!
Easy, professional and extrodianary customer service from start to end!
Very informational and helpful in helping me to protect my family and home.
Thanks
I just had my security system installed the other day and am very satisfied. As a recent new mother, I want to get a security system to feel safe when my husband traveled. Protect Your Home was very affordable and the installation person was very friendly and made me feel very at ease. Everyone I spoke with from the security advisor to the installer was very friendly and made sure they understood my needs so that they could provide the best possible system for me and my family. I would definitely recommend this to others.
As far as I know, this is the only company who you can call and get set up with an installation time over the phone instead of having to schedule an appointment for a technician come out to your home. Keeve was very informative and was able to identify my needs based merely on the description I gave of my home. Even better, they were able to throw in a Visa gift card to offset the installation fee!
The technician came to my home within the week to install the system. He knew exactly what I had ordered over the phone and was able to recommend some additional equipment to make sure all vulnerable spots in my home were protected and ensure my home and family are safe. I would highly recommend this company and could not be more satisfied with my Protect Your Home experience!
