Awesome family run business. Corrado and his whole family do a great job. There is usually a bit of a wait, but it is well worth it. Just discovered Savarno's a few weeks ago and have now eaten there 4 times -- getting a different dish each time. Everything from the main dishes to the deserts are excellent. Definitely not pre-fab food. Highly recommended.
Would not return. We ate there yesterday. My husband & I love Guy and Diners, Drive-In & Dives but Guy missed this one! We waited 55 minutes for two bland sandwiches. There were only about 15 people in the place. Both my and my husbands' grandparents came from Italy and their food was wonderful. We make better sandwiches & bread at home. We wanted to have dessert but we just made it back in time to our car before we would have gotten towed. We put enough money in the meter for 1-1/2 hours. They have a banquet room upstairs that seats 80 and cannot imagine them serving that many people with a time management problem.

I don’t have a review yet, but will after my son & daughter-in-law takes me there for my birthday this weekend. In the meantime, I just want to say my son’s a chef & said this is BY FAR the best Italian he’s ever had! He said this is AUTHENTIC Italian food, (yes, with ingredients imported from Italy) not the American version, with stock coming from a supply house. And that the portions are so large for the money they charge, he doesn’t understand how they can be making any profit. MOST people don’t cook from total scratch, so they don’t know how long it should really take to do that, so for those folks, it’s a long time to the table. If you don’t treasure quality any better than that, go somewhere else. As for Laura (11-15-10), who thought it was perfectly OK to take a BIRTHDAY PARTY (no less) to a restaurant that cooks from scratch ONE HOUR before closing, I’d say whoever answered the phone when you first called, clearly didn’t catch all of what you said. I’d bet you’re one of those groups that make a huge mess, change everything on the menu, let your kids run nuts & then camps out & leaves a lousy tip. Restaurant people know your kind. For David Legg (1-14-11), who said the sauce in “ineatable”. . . wow. You don’t even have a firm command of the basic English language, so how credible are your words? I’d bet you eat Chef Boyardee. In a nutshell, how much culture do any of you have that entitles you to accurately judge authentic Italian? Oh, & did I mention my son said the chef usually delivers the food to his table himself? How many restaurants can say that?

My family and I visited Savarno's Cucina for lunch on a busy friday afternoon. We were excited to go there because we had heard it was on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. It is in a very busy and fun part of Nashville. We were surprised to find parking right in front of the restaurant and to get seated right away. However, we waited 40min for our lunches. It was worth the wait!!! I would recommend going at a less busy time or perhaps pre-ordering your food. It was worth going just because of the wonderful selection of desserts.

My Wife and I saw Savarno's on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and got excited when we saw it was located here in Nashville. We live in Franklin, but made the small trip to downtown Nashville just to eat at Savarno's. Being a Saturday, free parking in the area was filled up, so we parked in the paid parking, which is like $3.00 an hour. We only paid for only an hour thinking there is no way we would be in Savarno's longer than that.
But boy were we wrong! We simply ordered two sandwiches and we literally had to wait over 50 minutes for them! Then when we got them, I expected them to taste like heaven for that long of a wait, but instead it was something barely better than you could get at Subway. Our meal was over $20 Dollars for two sandwiches and two waters.
While we were waiting for our sandwhiches, I had to go back and pay for another hour of parking, so I ended up spending $6.00 dollars in parking. I know the parking situation isn't necessarily Savarno's fault and it comes with the territory, but the main issue is having to wait over 50 minutes for just two semi-ok sandwhiches.
Everyone around us was getting mad about their orders taking forever as well. An old couple near us who also ordered two sandwiches asked the rather large lady who works at the register, why it takes almost an hour for two sandwiches, and she just replied in an rude manner ""it's first come first serve!"" and then walked away from them.
We were really disappointed with Savarno's and we don't plan on coming back. I really think they have big heads now that they have been on TV and they think they can treat customers like crap and still get our business!

I was so excited to come visit Savarinos once I saw it on Diners Drive inns and Dives. SO DISAPPOINTED. Guy you missed this one. The red sauce was so salty it was ineatable. When we shared our concerns we were told then dont eat it. WOW really, that is how you are gonna operate a businiess. GODD LUCK

Wow, what jerks. Our birthday party of six called ahead to confirm Savarino's hours for Saturday evening. They told use they closed at 8pm and to arrive no later than 7:30pm to be seated. We arrived at 6:55pm and the hostess literally closed the door in our face. What respectable business closes an hour early on Saturday night, knowing that a birthday party was coming in??? What's worse is that we drove 30mins just to get there. I will NEVER dine at this restaurant. There are way to many great places who put their customers first to waste time with these idiots.

ive had good italian food and this is not a place to go for it! the service was terrible along with the bland food.
i went there for lunch with some girlfriends after seeing this place on the drive and dine show w/food network to see what it was about. it took them forever (40 mins) to serve our food. our meals were not up to par for them to have been on any food show. not sure what all the hype is about... beginning to wonder if restaurants pay to be on tv for a boost in business.
maybe it was just a bad day for them but after reading some of the other reviews i think not.
