Pep Boys

If you want to PAY someone to break your car, come to this location. I brought my car to the shop because my check engine light was on and the car had been making an odd running sound. After diagnostic tests, I was uncomfortable with the cost, as well as weary of the information Pep Boys had given me, because it didn’t line up with the issues I'd been experiencing. I drove away to find my car INOPERABLE. The car shook as I drove and there was a loss of power. I immediately turned around to tell the Pep Boys employee that my car was NOW in terrible condition, I couldn’t drive uphill, and feared for my safety. He responded that, “you never know when bad parts are going to fail.” No willingness to look the car over again, no discount given, and I was forced to leave the establishment with an unsafe vehicle. Unfortunately, this Pep Boys location is the black sheep of the business, not concerned with your safety, not customer service related, and only care about making a profit off you.

Went to Pep Boys on OHB to purchase 4 new tires. Were told by Roberto it would be an hour & half wait before they could get to us. We said no problem, since their prices were cheaper than most around. My husband & I waited for 2 & half hrs & couldn't believe our truck had not been moved from the parking lot. When I went to the counter to question when they were going to start on it, Roberto had an "oh crap" look on his face. He started frantically looking through papers & said "oh yeah, you guys were getting 4 tires, you're next in line". He then moved our paperwork from 1 slot to another. Clearly we had been forgotten about! Frustrated, but still waited because mistakes happen & we thought it wouldn't be too much longer. Over 3 hrs & still nothing. Went back up to the counter & manager said he "had been to lunch & didn't know what was going on". Really?!? Isn't it your job to know what's going on with customers' vehicles? So we asked how much longer again. At this point I calmly explained my frustration, because no one had bothered to even apologize about the wait, nor come & tell us it was taking longer than the hour & half originally quoted. At that time the manager apologies & says they only had 1 tire machine so it would be another 30 mins, but assured us as soon as the van in front of us was done, we would be next (even though we were there way ahead of the van). Waited another 40 mins & still our truck hasn't moved. Went to the counter again & saw another vehicle had been moved to the tire machine instead of ours. Final straw! Asked for my keys & left with NO tires after being there almost 4 & half hours! Went down the street to National Tire & Battery & spent $80 more, but got great service & was in & out! Would much rather pay a little more for good service!!
