Karen and I purchased a Chaska XL gas insert made by Kozy Heat from Mike. The service from Mike and Roy was top notch and both were very knowledgable. Plus, they do an excellent job of cleaning our wood stove every year that they installed for us in 2004. We highly reccomend Complete Sweep.
I am a 100% Disabled American Veteran and my spouse is also fully disabled. We decided to convert from propane heat to (anthracite) coal heat to conserve money while staying warm. Our best decision ever was to visit Mike at Complete Sweep. From the minute we walked in the door, Mike answered all of our questions with consummate courtesy and demonstrated an in depth knowledge of how best to heat using coal. We ended up ordering a Kodiak Hand Fired Gravity Fed Coal Stove and we were absolutely delighted with the seamless ease with which Mike and his colleague Roy installed our stove, right on schedule and with professional precision.
As a disabled U.S. Army Captain, I hold all retailers to extremely high (but reasonable) standards, and Mike and Roy exceeded my lofty expectations in every possible respect. A product of outstanding quality was installed by two seasoned experts who were focused like a laser on providing exemplary customer service.
As a former Army intelligence branch officer, I chose to ignore one (critical) review posted about Complete Sweep because both the text and tone of the write up were so far over the top that the credibility of the (quasi-hysterical) consumer / writer could legitimately be called into question. Thank God I "passed off" the initial negative review as an anomaly and a self-centered rant by an individual who likely sees negativity in every single interaction with every retailer.
Mike promised to be the best, and that's exactly what he was and is: the best.

The morning our gas fireplace was to be installed we got a call from Mike, saying the mantel had not come in, that he would follow up and get back to us. This is after we had called the day before to confirm installation. I'm not sure why they didn't notice that the mantel was not in before the morning of installation. Mike never called us back to tell us what happened with the mantel or what the next step would be, however, they had surely cashed our check already. After several unreturned phone calls to Mike, Peter, who constantly refers to himself as “just the phone guy” actually YELLED at me and hung up the phone. Interestingly enough, when my husband called immediately back, Mike was suddenly back from his install and could talk to him. I'm fairly certain he was in the store the entire time and was avoiding my phone calls. We never got official word as to what happened with the mantel, however, hints were made that they forgot to order it. So after causing us major inconvenience and treating us like dirt, we still have never received an apology. They made no attempt to make it right, and only after we asked did they promise to give us the $190 remote control for free. Then, when they came to install the fireplace, over a month late, the mantel was the wrong color. Another week's delay while they fixed it. And, Mike, who promised we would get the $190 remote for free, brought the cheaper, basic remote, telling us the other one was on backorder and he would bring it the following week. We never heard from him and he won't return our phone calls. On top of everything else, we received a phone call from the Building Inspector several days after install telling us no one every pulled the permit for the fireplace, and that we had to come by their office and pay them $50. Surprise, surprise, Mike won't return our phone calls about this. Buyer beware.
The mantle was ordered in natural oak, and came arrived later than promised by manufacturer, the floor they have is not natural oak like "Lucy" said. I refinished mantle at no charge to match the floor exactly, and installed a thermostatic remote as promised. As for the permitting, I use a gas pipe fitter to do my gas piping, and when he pulls a permit it cover the entire installation. She chose to use a different gas pipe fitter, who pulled a permit just for the gas pipe, and not the installation of the fireplace, not my fault. I am the installer and am out of the store on all days except Saturday, and yes we had Peter answering the phone periodically through the week. Peter is a very polite, mild mannered man and when not answering the phone in the store is reading religious books. Peter told me how "Lucy" had called and started yelling at him, which I tend to believe because when I was at their house installing the fireplace and mantle, I could hear "Lucy" tearing into her husband on the phone, and that he told her to call back when she calmed down. The husband is a Saint to put up with her. The installation came out perfect.
After visiting several stove shops in the area we purchased an Archgard gas insert and a Big green Egg smoker from Complete Heat. The sales staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable on all of the products they carry and the Archgard fireplaces were the best looking units we have ever seen. Both products were delivered and installed by the stores install crew. All the work was done on time and on budget. Our fireplace is beautiful now, and thanks to the Egg, all of our food tastes great. I would highly recommend them to all of my friends & family.
