The absolute worst doctor I have ever been to! I had a cataplectic episode during our appointment and he proceeded to behave insensitively, arrogantly, and condescendingly. He did not make any attempt to assist me while I was in distress, on the contrary, he proceeded to shout and slam things to "wake me up", although if he were an expert as he presumed to be on my condition just because he read about it online during my appointment, he would have known that I was indeed awake and could not be "woken up" from that state in that manner. In fact, loud noises are triggers for me to go into cataplexy. I tried desperately to communicate by pointing to my medical bracelet which had my emergency contact who would have explained that I needed water immediately. He did not make any effort to respond to my efforts. Indeed once his intern (who showed much more concern, attention, and Compassion) gave him my bracelet and suggested that he call the number, he proceeded to take his time, reading my record & smugly saying, "there's medication for this but she isn't taking it." Excuse me, but how is that productive at all? Doesn't my record also state how adversely the various medications affected me, none of which providing positive benefit. Finally he contacted my husband who clearly repeated that I needed to be given water right away he took his sweet time, with no urgency or compassion. Meanwhile, I was getting worse because of my anxiety and his horrible handling of the situation (stress and negative emotions are other triggers) I don't know what he assumed about me, whether he thought I was faking or exaggerating or perhaps on drugs. A professional should never make assumptions about a patient or their condition. I am in fact, a professional teacher and upstanding citizen. Thankfully, I have found amazing doctors who are professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Thanks to them I'm recovering. Stay away from this doctor. He's the worst!
