My mom came to Pendleton with just high blood pressure and soon caught cold. Cold food was given to her. No soup. She would ring and no one came for 40 min to an hour.
They seldom bathed her. There was food in her bed. Her eyes became very infected and oozed. Her bottom had sores. It is not a safe place for the elderly.

I don't know what "Richard M"
Is talking about. He said now one heard of the other Richards dads issues? This is probably a staff member trying to repair the bad review rating.

BEWARE do not send your loved ones here.
1. All the positive reviews online are by staff! I know all of their names because both of my parents stayed at this facility.

This place is appalling.

2. My moms went there for rehab.
While she was in the rehab she fell and broke her ankle! Whenever she would call for help to go to the bathroom etc no one would come. She told me this so we did a trial. I rang the bell when she had to go while I was there and we waited 40 minutes and still no one came. I had to flag someone down and say we needed help. The girl said she would get someone an still no one came. The also mixed up her medications. She was left many days for hours sitting in her own urine because the lack of help. How does someone leave worse than how they came into a rehab??? I was so concerned for her safety that I literally had to petition to get her out of their and finish rehab at home. During all of this the staff at Pendleton were so unprofessional and would not take any responsibility for the things that happened. One of the staff members by the name of Mike D(he wrote one of the reviews online I've been seeing) was involved and he was the worst to deal with. I caught him lying about what had happened and taken place on a phone call when I called to complain about the issues.

3. My dad fell and broke his hip and had to have a very risky surgery. It was risky because of his preexisting cardiac issues. When the hospital offered options for rehabilitation my brother said he was going to send him to a Pendleton. Unfortunately he wasn't fully aware of the issue my mom had there before. I told him it was good and he still went with it because of the convince of location. Sure enough one week into rehab a Pendleton, my father falls and breaks his other hip!!!! How does someone even have the chance to fall and hurt themselves in REHAB. Rehab is supposed to be a safe place!! When I asked my dad what was going on at the rehab he told me that no one came to help him. I am so furious over their neglect. My poor dad is now awaiting a second high risk surgery due to their negligence.

Do not send your loved ones here. I've heard so many horror stories outside of our own about this place. They need to be he accountable.

I'm sorry Rich W. lost His Father who had a.bad experience at Pendleton. I've been both a Patient and a Resident for a total of 5 years.I am the Vice President of the Resident Council at Pendleton.

It is the job of the Resident Council to help the Clients resolve problems they consider have not been handled appropriately. While I don't know who you are, I know the Council has not received any problems of the magnitude you described. My stay at Pendleton has been fine. My problems have been handled quite well.

At Pendleton, there are "Ambassadors" on site to resolve problems 7 days a week. There is a State "ombudsman" who visits regularly to help clients. Sava hires "Med Options" to come to Pendleton, talk to the clients, find and resolve issues. Social Services hold group meetings every three months to discuss client progress. I'm sorry your Father did not have a good experience. Pendleton makes every effort to address and resolve problems when identified appropriately..

I have had both parents here for rehab a few times and also a grandparent here for Hospice care. the level of care and compassion shown to my family members was superb. The staff was always available to hear any concerns my family may have had and I wouldn't hesitate in the least to have friends/family return when/if the need for rehab care should ever return! Thank you Pendleton!!!

Overall

The extremely poor care by the Mystic facility led to repeated high infection rates, unnoticed fevers, poor hygiene, starvation and the death of my father. I would warn anyone that this facility is so poorly operated that placing your love one in their care guarantees the death of the love one you are trying to protect. They have a very high turn over rate and staff never has answers to your questions only excuses and comments of not having recent dealings with that area of the facility. Please consider other elder care facilities and save your family the grief that we are having to deal with.
