Prior to coming to Myrtle Beach, I had three tattoos performed when I was in Phoenix. I had held off getting two new pieces added, due to a leeriness involving the general lack of quality that I had seen from ink men in the MB area. When I did see a tattoo that I liked, the name "Flow" was the one that was consistently mentioned.. His work using gray scale was not only world class, but his uncanny skill with nuanced shading lent his colored work an almost three dimensional "depth" that is rarely seen. I popped inside to get a quote on a very complex geometric design for my chest, one that a friend had recently received from an artist in Wilmington. My friend's tatt took about five hours (looked great) and the final cost was $600 (with a $100 tip). Flow looked at the design, and indicated an ability to recreate it with the "matter-of-fact" attitude of a talented tenor being asked if he could hit a high "C" note. The quote was $100 an hour. Well, at least I wasn't getting screwed. As it turns out, it was a great deal, because the gent knocked the design out in a smidge less than two hours (not five), and the work was considerably better than what my friend was sporting on his chest. During a break, I noticed that the booth next to his was filled with pictures of NBA superstars and Rap/hip-hop luminaries. The man who was posing with freshly applied work on the likes of DMX and a certain Hall-of-Fame Chicago Bulls looked familiar from tattoo magazines. I nodded with my head at the booth and asked if the man who worked there was mentored by the man in the pics, "Chicago's World Famous Lil' Chris"? Flow said, in his laconic manner, "No man, that's Lil' Chris's booth. By the end of my Tatt, Lil' Chris walked in, just having been flown back into town by an elite clientele in Hawaii. I asked Flow if he would be offended, if I asked Chris to do my other piece, he wasn't. Chris worked me into his schedule, and my second tattoo? What I would normally think of as a four hour job, by any rational standard, was done in 90 minutes, and the work is so damned good, that I regretted my inability (due to work constraints) to have it on my forearm. Yeah, that good. These guys know what they are doing and don't take the "lawyer approach" to tattooing (run up the total billable by stretching the job). I have never written on line kudos for folks just doing their job, with these guys (obviously) I had to make an exception.

I have searched for months to have an old tattoo covered up. Everyone in my area said either it couldn't be done or the ones willing to do it, their portfolio SUCKED!! I found Elite Ink Tattoo and saw that Bobby Lanz's speciality was coverups. I emailed him and he was very prompt on returning my email. After reviewing pictures of my old tattoo and what I wanted for my new tattoo, Mr Lanz was confident that he could indeed help me. My new tattoo is AWSOME. I will be making the 51/2 hour drive again soon to have him to do another cover up. The shop is EXTREMELY CLEAN and ALL of the artist are AWSOME people. They make a person feel comfortable and welcome. It was like being around one big family. I reccommend anyone wanting work done or even a cover up of old BS work, the drive is deffinately worth the quality of work and the experience you will recieve.
I have 5 tattoos and Bruce has done 3 of my 5 tattoos, he transferred to Elite Ink Tattoo (which was the shop I originally wanted to go to in the first place) and they are absolutely awesome!!! Bruce does a wonderful job (ALWAYS) and the other artists in Elite Ink are incredible as well!!! VERY clean, professional, respectful, and for informative. Eltie Ink is just an awesome place to get a tattoo. They may be slightly more expensive than other shops around Myrtle Beach BUT it is 110% worth it!!! I will NEVER go to another shop for any of my future tattoos. I do not trust many of the shops in Myrtle Beach but Elite is a really great shop and as I said I will NOT Abe going to any other shop for any of my tats in the future.
My mother and I went in to Elite for a new tattoo for my birthday, I looked it up before going and only saw good reviews and saw all of the artists' portfolio's online. We went in and received wonderful service. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The shop was sterile and my tattoo came out exactly how I wanted. Once mine was all done my mom considered getting a cover-up and she talked to Mike - when they decided on an idea he drew it up and it came out beautifully and looked like a picture. I would suggest going to Elite 100%. The prices aren't bad and you get amazing work and are in a good atmosphere the entire time.
From the time we walked thru the door I just knew this was the place to get our first tattoos! The smell of cleanliness, the artist and counter people had us feeling like family from the second we walked thru door! There was no pressure and no obligations at all! That Bobby had my wife in ahhhh! That's all I heard about after we got back to the room! The tattoo was perfect Bobby did more than an amazing job, and the price was perfect! We stopped in in all the other shops in Myrtle and all I have to say is stay away! Elite rocks!!!!!!
My husband and I were out looking to get matching work done and we kinda stumbled upon this shop.We were wanting matching tattoos of our kids foot prints. The guys there were very down to earth and easily convinced us they would be the perfect people to do the art. They matched our kids foot prints from hospital records. We were told the tattoo would take 90 minutes by other shops but they had them done in 30 minutes. They did a great job we will be going back to have Jerry and Miguel do our tattoos in the future!! Great job guys!!
Best tattoo experience I've had! Jess did my tattoo and I love it! As soon as we walked in we felt at ease! Everyone is so friendly and so easy going. Amazing customer service. Jess actually came out and talked over our ideas with us and quoted the prices and answered every question in detail so we understood. Showed us the expiration dates on everything before opening them in front of us. Very clean and sterile place! Can't wait to come back for my next tattoo!
This is the best place I have been to in Myrtle Beach. It's going to give seaboard a new name. I got a cover up nobody said could be done and it turned out perfect and was done free hand . Nice clean very friendly environment . Very professional work. It's not with the seaboard shops if that's where GPS takes you keep going down Stockholder it's on the right behind the other shops. If you don't go here your missing out.
Just left elite ink on seaboard street from a 6 hour sit down with tattoo artist Shane.I have to say my rib piece was painful but it was all worth it considering the level of professionalism and great artistic skill that Shane produces with each tattoo. Honestly! Couldn't have asked for any better than what I received at elite ink, so if your looking to get a tattoo head down to elite and ask for shane.!
As a Photographer and an Artist studying @ The Art Institute I take great pleasure in viewing impressive styles of other artist work. I have visited Elite Ink Tattoos shop many times and I get lost for hours viewing all the great work that the artist there produce. If you want a amazing and personal work of art in tattoo form you can't go wrong. 5 stars easy!!!
