Living in small space doesn't mean you can't have a furry friend -- it just means you have to do some planning.
We've put together a small list to get you started on your journey -- and the first step starts with a single box.
I've been living in a West Glen Property for almost a year now and never will again. The first complaint that I have is the list of things wrong with my apartment. I filled it out when I first moved in, was told I could leave it under my door partially into the hallway, and the building manager would grab it when she came to clean. Didn't happen. And when I went to the office to turn it in the next day I was told it was past the due date so they wouldn't accept it, even after I explained the previous day's conversation. Most disturbing, there was a tenant that had caused multiple police-involved disturbances (I was told 5 by the building manager), including evacuation of the property until 10pm on a week night and police entry and negotiation from 1-3am on a week night as well. After stating what a safety risk it was (as I am pregnant and there was talk of a firearm being the cause) and that I planned on leaving and would take it to court, they decided to terminate his lease. And to top it all off the smell of marijuana overtakes the entire building on a regular basis. The worst part is they know who is smoking and still allow the tenant to live here with no consequence. So disappointed. Thankfully, I will be moving shortly. It's nice to save money on the price of rent here which is close to nothing, but the horrible atmosphere heavily outweighs the phenomenal price. You get what you pay for that's for sure.
Living here was easily my worst rental experience in the 15 years I've been renting, solely due to the apt. manager, Dan. He is rude, dishonest, disrespectful, shady, and awful at communication, and that's putting it all nicely. While I lived here:-Dan raised the rent with less than a 1 week notice during a time we were unable to move out due to a winter clause-The owner hired a drug addict (child of a friend) to clean the complex, and said cleaner stole over $400 worth of my belongings. I informed Dan, who promised for a year to reimburse me before finally telling me the manager told him he didn't need to give me anything-In late 2014, I posted a negative review. Dan bribed me to take it down by saying he wouldn't raise my rent if I removed the review-When I informed him this last summer that my roommate and I would be vacating, he tried to "negotiate" with me while he was drunk/had been drinking-Four days after I gave my notice to vacate, he gave my parking spot (that I'd paid for) to another tenant without any notice given to me, and then got a crappy attitude about it when I brought it up to him-Dan was unable to adequately keep track of his records and had our lease dates 6 months off-Refused to acknowledge or respond to my various email requests to schedule a walk-through at the end of our lease-Shorted my roommate and I $25 on our security deposit refund and then refused to respond to my emails regarding why he shorted us the money.Seriously, unless you're desperate, do not move here, at least not while he's the manager. Chris, the assistant, is really nice, and maintenance is ok (not awful, but not great). Dan ruins it for everyone though.
Do not move in! STAY away!! This place will take your money and not give you back your deposit. Everything breaks and they will not update
have cleaned apartment perfectly, but still they said we did not clean properly and they did not return our deposit back. Deposit was 900$. If you want to save ur money then don't prefer these apartments.
The worst place ever!!! A RACCOON INFESTED DUMP. Raccoons all over the place here in every dumpster, in the trees and in the APARTMENTS!!! the raccoons some how broke into the soffit outside of my living room window and are now inside the attic they claw, dig, and all around have a party on my ceilings. I haven't gotten a good night sleep in months they make the most noise around 2-3 in the morning, so if you move here I hope you have a 3rd shift job because this situation has affected my job on account that I wake up at 7 for work. If you have small children I wouldn't let them play outside unsupervised. I went to the dumpster and threw in my trash two raccoons hopped out and scared me half to death! Jennifer the manager on site is unprofessional as they get she hung up in my face when I called asking about the issue to see if they would make repairs, switch me to a different unit or letting me out of my lease. 0 out of 5 stars one star is too much for these slumlords!
I've enjoyed the past 3years here. Interior is nice awesome large windows, cream city brick walls. BEAUTIFUL views of the river. River walk access from the Harp to beyond the Ale House. PRIME DOWNTOWN LOCATION. New owner Pete is available and attentive. Formally 606 MH
Terrible, Management and maintenance are the worst!
I have lived here for a while. The view from my apartment is amazing and I would not change it for anything. I have my own washer and dryer in my apartment and I do not have to leave my building to work out. Plus I can just go downstairs to Applebee's!
Lived there for one year and quickly moved out! Packages stolen, Manager telling me if I smoke weed close the window or the neighbors will complain, and who can't forget about the whole building that totally burned down due to a fire in the basement! Make sure to get renters insurance or all your property will be lost! People hanging out by main doors being loud or smoking so you can pretty much heat and smell everything no matter which side of the building you live on! They have a "gym" or what I call grandmas workout room! Very small room with very old equipment! If you like to hate where you live come on by
My friend and I rented from humboldt heights in Green Bay last year. When we first signed the lease the manager was Ashley. She told us that we were set to move in and pick up our keys on August first. So on August first we drove an hour and a half with all of our stuff and THERE WAS NO BODY THERE TO GIVE US OUR KEYS! We contacted the main office and were told there was no manager on office and to come back the next week (while we paid for rent at an apartment we weren't able to live in yet) when we finally recieced our keys they didn't even work in our door so they had to change our locks and give us new keys anyways. And our apartment HADENT been cleaned at all. We complained to the new manager Nancy about it so she came and said she had repainted all the walls even though she obviously didn't. shortley after moving in we filed many complaints about mold on our apartment doors and cabinets. They replaced 2 doors but cut the doors to the wrong size so they didn't even close properly. They never fixed our cabinets that were filled with mold. We also rented a garage from them and paid an extra 25 dollars a month. Shortly after we got it, it stopped working and wouldn't open. Our cars would get stuck inside constantly. After they "fixed" it, it was just stuck open for the rest of our lease ((9months) and they continued to charge us. Occasionally the garage door would fall and be frozen shut so we weren't comfortable parking in there so we would have one car parked in our spot and the other would park in guest parking. That was until I got a sticker saying that if I park there again I will be towed!! My roommate and I subbmitted a paper saying we would be moving out on July 31st (day the lease ended) and we left them with a forwarding address for the deposit. After a few months I recieved a call from them asking where we lived because our deposit had been getting sent to OUR HUMBOLDT ADDRESS and kept being sent back!!! (Idiots obviously you wouldn't be sending a deposit to the apartment that you're sending the deposit for) they asked for a new forwarding address so I gave them mine. I asked them to just make the check out to mine because I now live in Florida and the girl I lived with is still in wisconsin so there would be no way to deposit the check. When I recieved the check 1)it was made out to the both of us and 2) it wasn't the full amount. They said we had unpaid rent. So I called sylvan and they looked us up and appigized to me for sending us too little of money and told me that they would send a new one. I waited 9 days and I still HADENT recieved it. So I called and Maggie was like "oh I'm so sorry I forgot about it I'll send it now" I asked her to expidite it and she said she couldn't so then I had to change the shipped address to my parents in wisconsin (I was going home to visit and not able to deposit a check without both of the people on the check being there) it thankfully made it to their house in time and was the full amount so we got that taken care of. After that we finally thought we were done dealing with them until last week when I recieved a call saying that they never accepted us to turn off our electricity and take it out of our name. Now WPS is contacting me saying that we owe them 300 dollars when we haven't even lived there for 5 months!!! I have left several messages for Maggie to call me back and no one ever answers the phone or returns calls. ITS A TERRIBLE PLACE TO RENT DONT EVER DO IT!!!!!!!!
