If I could leave less than one star. I would Everything was fine and dandy until it was time to move out and my lease was up. When requesting a final water bill, I was denied. instead I was charged for the "average usage per day". I went straight home and reviewed my lease and no where did it state I would be charged an average on my final water bill. I did not physically live in this apartment for the last 3 or so weeks of my lease. I should not be charged for water I did not use. Money is not an issue here, I could care less about the money. Its ridiculous how I can not be provided with a final water bill with my water usage. The only helpful office worker was Jessica. I feel bad that she works for this company that treats all their tenants like poop. When I spoke with the corporate office , Steve Webber (615-849-8398) , was still unable to provide me with a final water bill. I do not recommend living here as they have no idea what they are doing.
Lived here 8 years last year it is trashy. Used condoms on the ground , trash and debri not being picked up anymore. Broken glass on the parking lots. I have spoke several times to manager nothing done. I had to call codes violation people and came and opened a case. People throw beer bottle and liquor bottles in grass since they don't pick up trash or debri people that now lawn runs over it. people walk there dogs and children play in the grass and will get cut.Also people keep there wrecked cars in the parking lot
This is the absolute worst apartment I've ever lived in. Even under new management this place is failing badly. Maintenance requests do not get fixed unless you repeatedly call, and even still it will take weeks. They have rules that they don't enforce (for example children arent allowed in the exercise room but they leave it unlocked so they can run through there, and they do.) Trash is constantly piled up outside the dumpster. There are spiders and mold in the apartments. The water pressure is so high in the shower that it doesn't drain while you are using it. Most importantly if your neighbor smokes it will smell like they are smoking in your apartment and management will do nothing about it. I've lived here less than a month and I am now going in for overtime at my job so that I am away as much as possible and I can save up the money I need to get out of my lease and into a new one. Definitely a lemon, looks nice but is really cheap and broken down and overpriced. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I don't recommend anyone moving to these apartments. They look nice on the outside but turn into a nightmare whenever you start living here. I made the mistake of signing a 12 month lease and had to put up with this place for entirely too long. Maintenance takes forever to respond and rarely get the job done. The office holds your packages and they're usually closed. Kids are allowed to run around freely without any adult supervision. On several occasions I almost ran into one of them with my car because they just don't care to be safe. The price of a one bedroom is entirely too high for the space you get. Trash is a disaster, the new management just doesn't seem to care that the compactor is usually overflowing. The only thing maintained around here is the front entrance so they can put on a nice front for new tenants, don't fall for it.Just take my advice and try somewhere else, don't bother with Summerlake, you'll regret it.
DO NOT MOVE IN THESE APARTMENTS. They are extremely unsafe. If you don't believe me just google University Ridge shootings. The office is terrible and unorganized. They have lost my payment on multiple occasions. They fix things on their own schedule. Units look NOTHING like the model. The crime is outrageous. I had a friend get robbed at gunpoint walking home. This place is terrible. Don't believe the "we have security" they are USELESS. Just police who live there for free. They know of the illegal things going on and do nothing. One of the police even almost ran me off the road in his personal truck one day. Just save your self and go somewhere else. The hood is right behind these apartments so a lot of people trickle over to use computers and the shuttle bus. They are filled with people who DO NOT attend college. I mean like older creepy men who have stared at me while walking to my door. I hear gunshots often. My roommate had her boyfriend living there and his friends would stay on the couch. From my understanding they have a lot of squatters here that they don't care about. I repeat the office is TERRIBLE. They are only concerned with signing leases not making it safe. The pool is disgusting. I watched a kid throw up in it and the filtration system isn't on. Hot tub is just cold water with jets. The gym is the only kind of nice thing but even that has been torn up. I've come in at late night and seen people sleeping in there. It is extremely unsafe and wouldn't suggest anyone live here. You couldn't pay me to live here. Because it could be your life. My friends car was even hit by a stray bullet. It is ridiculous.
Where to begin with this place. I started renting from Belle Aire Apartments back in 2004. I guess you can say I was a long time resident of there. The buildings are very old (constructed in 1972) they have major issues with pests, water, and electricity. In several units the floors are bowed and warped due to iwater standing under the building. Also mold can be seen in the windows and on the walls in the bathrooms. Not all of the apartments have washer dryer hook-ups and none have garbage disposals. I have had issues with fleas coming through the vents (because of cats living under my apartment) Not having water (because of mains bursting under the building) and spikes in my electrical bills due to breakers malfunctioning (which is also a fire hazard). In the time that I stayed there I lost several computers and small appliances to power surges in the building.When I moved in rent for a 1 bedroom townhouse unit (unfurnished was $450 a month, and water was furnished. I had issues with the property manager's (at the time pat Seldon) daughter and was transfered to a two bedroom unit. After about two months my rent went up to $500. I left for the service in 2008 under good terms with the property management (at the time Headed by a woman named Cheri Friezn) and returned to Belle Aire Apartments in 2010. I was told I was not refunded my deposit because there were some scratches on the apartment floor. When I rented from them again in 2010 the apartment staff was headed by a woman named Junita Keller. There were about 5 maintenance men keeping up the apartments. There number shrank to two in the course of about 3 years. It became common knowledge that tennants were expected to deal with minor maintenance issues themselves. My apartment suffered continuous issues Shortly after I moved in the outlets in the kitchen had to be replaced. Then I had issues with the floor collapsing in the bathroom. There was an issue with standing water under the building and pipes bursting routinely under the building. About January or Febuary of 2014 there was an issue with the plumbing and the city had to come out. Our rent again spiked to about $575. I had an issue in March. The sink in my kitchen had stopped up. I was told after they had to call in a plumber to unstop the sink that I was being billed the plumbing cost and that I was not allowed to have any tools in my apartment??? Also "due to recent events" the rent went up to $650 a month... After numerous attemps to appeal to reason I was served an eviction notice for usage of the apartment. I left Belle Aire apartments under these conditions. Noting that the apartment complex routinely siezes tenant's property and hordes it in a unit (G-1) which is unrentable due to the ceiling collapsing, and that any property left on the peremises would be used to "furnish" apartments I was sure to take all property belonging to me out of the unit, patch and paint any nail holes I had made in the walls, and sweep, vacuum and mop. I was told that I would not be refunded my deposit because I hadn't given them 30 days notice to vacate??? They also attempted to make me pay for damages to the apartment that I had noted on my move in sheet and tried to get them to fix earlier. I later returned to collect some mail that had been delivered to my old address to find from the new tenants that the same 2 bedroom apartment I was staying in was now $850 a month and water was not furnished. Also the deposit is now a non-refundable "cleaning fee." I would strongly advise any potential renters to avoid this trap.
Nasty!!! STAY AWAY THEY ARE SLUM LORDS.... Building and code live there!!! They are run down old apartments.if you ask me they should be closed down.

This could have been a bad rating please read. My daughter moved in August 2016. At first I had my doubts as the apartment was not in move in condition. We completed the check list returned to the office phone full of photos I was ready and prepared to break the lease. This was a major moving weekend so we had to wait as you can imagine I was not happy by the time we stood in line. The first young man we spoke with , I don't remember, his name was very nice and said for us to speak to the manager. As we waited for her I was I was looking for other places for my daughter to move to. Symone the manager took us in the office looked at the photos did some research and realized that apartment had actually not been cleared for rental. She took her time with lines in the lobby to show us another apartment and within an hour this situation went from the worst review I would have written to one of the best.
My A/C has been out for 2+ weeks and despite making two emergency maintenance requests, there seems to be no end in sight to the 80+ degree temperatures in my apartment. Another renter told me that they refused to fix the a/c unless it was a medical emergency. When he mentioned his concern about the health of his dog, the manager told him verbatim "dogs don't count as an emergency". In the end, he had to bring his pregnant girlfriend to the office in order to get it fixed in a timely fashion. At least once a month, the trash compactor seems to break down, resulting in a massive pile up of refuse and trash, sometimes large enough to pour out into the main roadway of the complex. This typically results in city codes being notified and sending out EcoLab trucks to inspect the grounds, and finally a quick fix by management to avoid violation fees.
