I had not updated my glasses for about 6 years. They still function perfectly well, though the prescription is slightly weak. I just needed some better more modern looking glasses. The doctor was extremely thorough and friendly. He took his time with me and answered all of my questions about glaucoma (my family has a history). He is keeping an eye on it whenever I come in for my appointment.
The optician was very helpful and picked out some really nice glasses for me. I am very happy with my new glasses. My only complaint would be the long wait time. It is something I am willing to deal with though for the personal service and thorough exam I feel I got.

Had an eye exam and then ordered glasses. Could not see out of the glasses so they were sent back multiple times. Finally did another exam. They changed the prescription and reordered the glasses. Still could not see. They kept telling me I needed to wear the glasses so my eyes could get used to them. I wore the glasses for a week and took them back for a refund. Went to another doctor and had an exam. The prescription was different than the one given by Dr. McCabe. Ordered the glasses and when I got them I could see when I first put them on.
Very friendly people only because they want your money. They will give you the impression that everything is taken care of and your insurance will cover it when in fact they will pay little to nothing at all. That is partly due to the fact that they use procedures not covered by your insurance. Heaven forbid you are referred to them so they can charge you their "emergency fee". They will not inform you of ridiculous charges and are not flexible on price/payments at all. I was also left sitting in an exam room for nearly two hours and had to stick my head out the door because I thought they forgot I was in there. Stay away from this place. I wouldn't seek help here if they were the only eye doctor around and I was missing an eyeball.
Dr McCabe performed cataract removal with upgraded lens insertion on my wife and myself about five years ago. The results were great. We both reached 20/20 without glasses. My vision remains perfect and my wife's is also great. Follow up have been great including routine eye care and repairing eye injuries. In my opinion he and his staff are the best.

I went here for my annual exam this past year and was also given an incorrect prescription. I could not see at all with my new glasses. I went back to their office and they said it would be $35 for a glasses recheck or "refraction" I spoke with Alan and the representative at the front desk and they noted my account and set up an appointment for the so called re-check. At the end of this appointment to get my prescription corrected I tried to pay at the desk and they said it was covered by my insurance and I didn't owe anything. 3 weeks later I am notified by my insurance that I have been charged $197 for my eye exam and since I had already had 1 exam this year that this will not be covered. After calling McCabe's office to find out what exactly is going on, and having a lengthy conversation with so-called office manager JoAnn, I am told that these are the correct charges, I was never coming in for a $35 re-check, I must pay the amount of an entire exam, and that I must pay extra because I did not pay them the day was there. She said they have no notes in my record regarding me needing a re-check and that Alan, who I spoke to at the office originally, has no recollection of speaking with me. I will never go back here and would not recommend anyone go here. I never write reviews either, but when people can't keep their business in order to this extent, something needs to be said.
As far as the exam they did for my 2 older children, they did well. I gave them 3 stars because I feel they lack a sense of ethics. I had to pay $25 for a missed appointment for my youngest son who has some disabilities, when after telling them over the phone about them, they told me to find somewhere else. I feel as though if you refuse to see my child because he has didabilities, you don't really have the right to charge me for "missing" his appointment. I was very disappointed they wouldn't see him, but even more so when I had to pay them money for it.
