You're never actually guaranteed a cab, even if you call ahead of time to order one. Often, you'll be waiting for 15 minutes past your pickup time before finally getting a text saying they're on their way. Sometimes I'll be told a cab is on its way, only to get a text 30 minutes later saying "no cabs are available" There have been a couple occasions when I get a text saying the driver is on his way, then the driver never shows up, and they have to send someone else! They may be cheap, but they are NOT AT ALL reliable!
I truly wish I could give no stars!!!! I rode in cab 1361 on 3/25/15 around 10pm and I have never been so offended in my entire life!!! As we pulled up in my hotel the driver had the audacity to tell me he dropped off two black "N words" earlier to the same hotel. I am African American but have lighter skin so some ignorant people may not know... I was so offended I hope this stops some people from using this company!!! I'm very saddened by this occurrence as I am not a native of Chicago and was really enjoying the experience until now. American Taxi should educate their drivers before sending them out to communicate with different ethnicities
I ordered a cab for about a 4am pick-up from western suburbs to Midway airport. The driver did not exit the vehicle to help load luggage into the trunk. Once we got inside, the driver had a strong body odor. Approaching I-55 SB on I-294, he almost exited south onto I-55, in the opposite direction from Midway - I had to correct him at the last moment. After that I turned on my GPS. The driver proceeded making three wrong turns in the Midway area, wasted our time - I just could not correct him fast enough. When he finally pulled up to unload us, he did not have his credit card reader working, although I specifically ordered a cab who could accept credit cards. Just a complete mess of service!
The jerks blew me off. And when I called back to complain they just kept transferring me to voice mailWorst company ever.
Absolutely HORRIBLE! I requested a cab to pick my 16 yr old son up from work at Beggars in Oak Forest. He was getting off work at 1:00 am and I was out of town. I didn't want him walking home at that hour. They never showed! never called either. I will NEVER rely on them again.
First time ever calling a taxi and this was the most horrible experience ever! I scheduled for a pick-up the night before, JUST to ensure that I had pick-up for the day. To my complete surprise, no pick-up. I received a call at 6:30 am to tell me that they will be unable to pick me up at 6:30 am because I was too far. Under their name it says servicing the Country Club Hills area and I stay in Country Club Hills, false advertising is what that is called! Made me miss my train to work because I had to call around and find another taxi company within 5 minutes. If they knew they were going to be unable to pick me up, I should have received a call within the first 5 minutes! Not only is that common sense, but that is professional! Also, the lady that I placed the order with the night before should have told me that they would be unable to pick me up that early! Horrible service and I would never recommend them to anyone!!!!!!
