Stayed here for our anniversary so we could check out whales. First time in Morris Bay and it was pretty cool.
My fiancée and I went to Morro bay on a holiday weekend. Motel 6 had the best price; $137 for two days. Room and bathroom were clean. No bugs or weird smells. Didn't encounter any problems with the staff or other guests. Location wise, it is located on the outskirts of Morro bay but it is really calming to arrive at your quiet room after a long day at the beach or downtown. It's six or eight minute drive to downtown or to the boardwalk. Overall, if you are on a budget and don't mind driving your car and parking it downtown to explore, motel 6 is the best option for you.
Front desk was welcoming and fast. The room was exceptionally clean. The only drawbacks were walls are a little thin, you can hear people talking. And no plastic laundry bag available. For 200.00 , I expect a few more amenities .
Customer service sub-par. Don't expect to even get a call back when calling the General Manager, Charlie Yates. He does not value guests.
My hubby & I've stayed multiple times every yr since 2002, been longtime & faithful guests here. Have referrered friends, family & coworkers, including 2 couples who honeymooned here & 1 couple who had their Wedding/Reception here due to our recommendation. Prior staff was fantastic, attentive, knowledgeable & exceeded all expectations of customer service. Under new ownership/management & the staff has changed. During most recent stay we had issues that were unacceptable. Given the General Manager's card (Charlie Yates) by front desk staff to contact him directly. My husband has called to speak to him numerous times & left messages via staff & voice mail when transferred to his ext. Mr. Yates does not have the courtesy nor time to return phone calls, I wanted to share our experience with other customers, current/prospective. Saying goes, "you get what you pay for", & for the price you'd expect much better service and treatment, unfortunately you won't receive it here.
So far our experience here as been great. Our room is comfortable and the area is absolutely beautiful. It's nice to be 10 minutes outside of the busyness of downtown SLO, but close enough to get there easily.
This is the worse hotel I have been in. I pay $200 for a night and this stupid place have no air conditioning. .. the room temperature was like at 90 degrees. . Call front desk. . No one is there to answer the phone. Will never stay here again
Nice host! Clean everything! Dated but the cleanliness oversedes new. Very close to grocery store restuarants. Made us feel welcome
No air condition, the phone did not work to call the front desk. My wife said the lobby smelled like Cheetos.
