UNRELIABLE! Taxi was about 1/2 hour late and went to the wrong address. Never confirmed the address and the other location was waiting for a different taxi, so driver left. One hour before the flight I had to drive myself to the airport! Cancelled the airport pickup - would you believe that the company never cancelled that pickup and called to say they were waiting at the terminal while I was paying the parking attendant for an eight-day trip. Also notified me (mistakenly) that the pickup would arrive on a different day (several days after the original pickup was scheduled!). They will charge you if you cause them a delay - but forget any compensation when they cause you to drive yourself and have to pay for parking.

Don't trust their rates. Two weeks ago, was given a rate $15 cheaper for the exact same distance. The representative said sorry, this is the rate on the computer, discounting my experience completely.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A MORE DANGEROUS CAR RIDE IN MY LIFE. Please read this full review to understand why NOBODY should use Terry's taxi. They handled a dangerous situation in a careless, potentially deadly manner. I will begin by saying that I have used Terry's Taxi before and they did a good job for a reasonable price. However, the last ride that I had was not just bad-- it was life threatening. I am only taking the time to write this negative review (which I rarely/if ever do) because it was literally a DANGEROUS experience and it is important to everyone's safety that they know about this.The following experience happened to me after I reserved a pick up 8 days in advance from Newark Airport back to Morristown NJ for a flight arriving at 6am.Despite my far-in-advance reservation, Terry's was 50 minutes late, and I stood outside the airport as the receptionist on the phone continued to tell me "10 minutes.... 5 minutes... any minute now" while 50 minutes passed.I finally got into the taxi car, and about 10 minutes into the ride on 24 west the car started drifting into another lane. The driver was fully sleeping. I screamed to wake him up, and instead of looking back at the road, he did a full 180 and turned to look at me in utter confusion. It was only when I Screamed and pointed "YOU'RE DRIVNG ON THE HIGHWAY" that he turned around and took the wheel.I should have gotten out of the car right then, in retrospect, because standing on the side of the highway would have been safer than staying in this mans car, but I had 3 pieces of luggage and, like I said, we were in the middle of the highway.For a second time the driver fell asleep turning onto columbia turnpike and almost hit another car. The woman in that car had to swerve away from him and was honking and cursing in horror. I will not speculate on whether he was sleepy, overworked, or on drugs. But this was not a man capable of safely drivng a car.Thankfully I arrived safely home, and I told him he should not be driving a taxi if he cant stay awake. He confusedly muttered "yah," and left. I called Terry's Taxi and waited on hold for 7 minutes so I could let them know that this driver should not be on the road; he should not pick up any more customers for the day because he fell asleep twice with me. The woman who answered, Tara, told me she had just gotten into the office and that she had no idea who my driver was so she couldn't pull him from the road. I asked her if there was some way to look him up, and I described the car and what he looked like. She repeated that she was just getting into work and she would have the owner call me back "at their earliest convenience." This happened 4 days ago and I have not heard from anyone at Terry's Taxi. Not only was it unprofessional that they were 50 minutes late, not only was it dangerous that they employ a driver who was falling asleep on the highway, but they DID NOT CARE and openly told me there was nothing they were going to do about it. I am sorry to say it because the people who run this business are nice, but DO NOT USE THIS TAXI COMPANY. It is not worth your life.
I have read other reviews, and am extremely disappointed to read that it is the norm for Terry's taxis to make you wait at the airport so that they can combine groups and save money. They lied about the wait time, that the stranger was put in our car due to a delay (both flights were on schedule) and the driver barely spoke English. Spend a little extra money and book your car service with a reputable company. Avoid Terry's taxis like the plague.

i booked terry's taxi for my ride from newark airport to basking ridge yesterday(6h june 2014).I would say i had horrible experienve with them1)When i landed,got a call in which they said they would like to accomodate another passenger ..they have did this previosuly also...anyways i agreed2)They lied...saying other passenger is going to basking rdge...and i will be dropped first3)to my surprise...that cisomer was for morristown and he was given 1s drop...and took me extra 30 minutes to get to home...that too at night 11:15 pm.4)when called regarding this to their customer service..the lady on the other side was so rude and did not accepted her mistake(her name was Linsey).5)i said..i will post whaever happened to me ....and to my utmost surprise,she said..u can do whateve u want...This is one of the WORST SERVICE!!!!!DO NOT USE THIS TAXI SERVICE.....CUSTOMER SERVICE LADY WAS SO RUDE(LINSEY)
Avoid these thieves.Charged us $65 from the Hilton Short Hills to the Newark airport. I paid by credit card, left $10 tip on it for a total of $75. They knew we were from out of state. They changed the 5 to an 8 and I was charged $78. They stole $3 because they knew that we wouldn't go after them from out of state for $3. I contacted the Hilton to make sure they don't do business with them again.
I placed a call to Express Car Service and was turned down for service as my destination was less than two miles away. I was actually pleased though, as my first impression wasn't too positive. When I called the number, I was greeted with some sort of mumbling sound that did not include the company's name. Now, it may be easy to say that it isn’t worth their time and expense to drive someone such a short distance (they are located 15 min from where I live), but they could have said they would need to charge me a separate fee. I would have paid $5 extra. For a 5 minute drive, with a 57% tip (which is what I gave the other company that didn’t even question the distance and is located around the same area as this one), I think even I would do it. I would have walked too, if it weren’t for the big highway I would have to cross over, the sweltering heat, and the uncomfortable shoes.In this economy, if you are able to turn down a paying customer, because it's not worth your while, then you must be really rolling in the dough.
