So, I took a friend here for her birthday last year, and the wait staff was so accommodating and over the top friendly that it made the whole experience an absolute delight. I brought balloons up the day before and a cake and asked them to set up a special window seat table for the occassion. When we arrived...there were the balloons, on the table, with a special table cloth that they provided and the cake, making for a great surprise for my friend. Then the food was delicious. I was impressed with the selection and the choice between several vegetarian dishes as well as those with meat. The food in the buffet is mildly spiced, but they do provide a few different chutneys to ramp it up for whatever one's plate prefers. They comped us mango lassies, and made sure our bread basked was filled with warm naan and even sang "Happy Birthday". We were so thrilled with the food, the service, the friendly atmosphere and the down home ambience, that we made a point of returning for her birthday the next year (it takes a couple of hours for us to drive there). So, I would definitely recommend this highly--and don't forget to order the mango lassies!
I took a friend here for her birthday. I went in the day before, with a cake and baloons and asked if they could have them set out on the table waiting as a surprise when we arrived the next day. The server(s) accommodated my requests over and above all that I asked. They had set us up in a special table that afforded privacy and was decorated with the baloons and had special items that I had not brought or requested--all done by them at their innitiative. They comped us mango lasses, and the service was above excellent--all smiles and attentiveness. The food was great--a really exciting variety of Indian dishes, breads, desserts, etc. My friend was overwhelmed with the preparation, the service the food and the baloons, cake and the singing of "Happy Birthday" by the servers. We have already made plans to return for the next birthday. This place is great--the wood decore gives it an earthy nataural quality that also adds to the experience.
first off i want to say i am no way related to Cafe of India.I usually go to Cafe of india twice a week since they have been open. They are always very nice and teh food is always on par. I would recommend them to anyone.I am a waiter at a restaurant and when my restaurant says we close at 9:30 pm it doesnt meant you can coast in at 9:20 and expect to have every thing operational. Usually if someone comes in after 9 we tell them its TOGO only. At 9:00 the kitchen is usually at half operation, because they need to clean the place up before they leave.I think there should be a course in high school that teaches people about restaurant work as well as how to tip in life.
