NO PARKING!!!! Apartments do not have bike racks. Bikes must be parked in the house and 4 wheel bikes must be parked on the street. You can not park pedal powered vehicles in the parking spot included in the lease but you still have to pay for the empty space! Even though we do not live there any more the damn greedy appartments are still trying to sue us to collect more stupid american dollars.
We are stuck renting in this unsafe, noisy crime filled apartment. Management is unsupportive of the late night activity of tenants. Cars are broken into, neighbors are bar b quing @ 1:00 in the morning on worknights as well as drunken fights in the parking lot. Our windshield was smashed and car alarms went off at 1:00 on a Monday night. Tenants were playing football in the parking lot, bouncing balls off cars and creating too much noise to sleep. Drug activity is happening and management says it is not her job to monitor tenants. It's like a drive thru in the late night, with horns honking and certain tenants meeting the cars to pick up their "delivery". Police are at Monte Vista at least once a week due to late night activity, yet management continues to rent to tenants engaging in unlawful activity. She claims that we all need to get used to community living. She lives on the opposite side of the grounds so she is not affected and doesn't care what happens to the tenants being disturbed by her poor choice of drug dealing tenants. Don't rent on the buildings farthest from management's office. It's an unsafe, noisy apartment complex. DON'T SIGN LEASE unless you want to risk your car and personal safety!
Management is unethical and dishonest. If we weren't stuck in a lease, we would have moved out within the first month.
Due to cheap and profit hungry management, we were charged above and beyond our $600 deposit. We never hung a picture on the wall, had room size rugs on top of the original carpets and Humera still unethically charged us to repaint and recarpet the apartment. We are two professional adults rarely at the apartment, frequent travellers and she still managed to fraudulently charge us to make her manager bonus. The more she collects off deposits, the more she personally receives in her monthly check. Our apartment was damaged due to a flood from a neighbors apartment. The plumbing is over 25 years old and the pipes broke between the walls flooding into our bathroom, kitchen and dining room. We had to threaten to call the health dept. before she would have our carpets cleaned. The odor from the flood was so horrific from the neighbors bacteria infested toilet seal and plumbing bursting. She billed us for the carpet to be cleaned despite the fact it resulted from her lack of maintenance. We were charged over $200 for our water bill that month, apparently our pipes were leaking underground as well. We have yet to get support from Monte Vista apartments to get reimbursed for these outrageous water bills due to their lack of management. We have reported management to Project Sentinal and working on getting our wrongfully charged deposit back.

Don't move in unless you have a witness and verify the appliances and apartment are in the same condition as when you gave your deposit. We were promised new carpet when we moved in. The manager lied and tried to deny her agreement. When she gave us the keys, the apartment was not ready, the old dog stained carpet was still there and she tried to make us accept it. Several neighbors are experiencing serious mold on the interior walls due to management refusing to correct plumbing and toilet problems. The manager receives a bonus if she keeps within the budget. She will ignore repairs and replacement service requests to keep costs down, so the tenant is stuck with non-functioning, 15 year old appliances.
Management is not supportive of tenant's right to quiet, enjoyable living conditions. Based on the lease, a tenant is to respect others during the hours of 10pm - 6am. Above us was a tenant for over a year that vacuumed, played loud music, dragged their bikes banging the stairs and ran the washing machine beginning @ 4:30 every morning because they left for work @ 6:00am. Management said we had to deal with ""apartment living noise"" regardless of what hour it was and made no effort to enforce the contract quiet hours. We moved due to this horrible manager who didn't care about anything but keeping the units occupied so she could earn her bonus. We couldn't wait to get out of our lease!
