Their size mayÂ vary from Â¼ inch to several inchesÂ in diameter. They may blendÂ together. Each spot lasts anywhereÂ from 4-36 hours and is surroundedÂ by normal looking skin. As theyÂ resolve the skin looks normal, notÂ flaky or rough. While the hives areÂ present one spot will be resolvingÂ while another nearby is developing.Â In about 40% of cases localized swelling (angioedema) of the lips, eyelids, hands, feet or tongue also occurs.

Eczema may be triggered by a wide range of irritants, such as chemicals or allergens. Another telling sign? Psoriasis is rare in babies and young children, while eczema is quite common.
