Dr. Puterbaugh, if she can eve...

Dr. Puterbaugh, if she can even be called a doctor, took my dog in for surgery. Performed surgery and I paid her everything. She put the the wrong size E-Collar on her to prevent my dog from chewing her cast off, and guess what, she chewed it off and wanted to charge me money to repair it. She said "she didn't know the dog was creative enough to turn her head around to tear her bandages off" Well first of all, I didn't pay you $1350 to "not know" what you are doing. She has this really arrogant and rude attitude that I did not appreciate. I had questioned whose fault it really is for her chewing off the cast since I paid for the E-collar and expected it to be the right size and she began lecturing me as if I was a child. I didn't get aggressive with her until I paid and left. As I was driving I became very upset as to how a doctor could talk to me in such a way when I am paying her for services. I turned around told her to reverse the charges because I do not want her to be my dog's vet anymore. I came back in and she says "I am not going to argue with you on this, if you want to take her to another vet that is fine" in the rudest way possible. She said "it's too late I have already injected her with sedative" Seriously? I just left and told you not to and you inject it anyways. At that point, I didn't care anymore, she charged me additional money to "reverse" the sedation, which I gladly paid, since she seemed desperate for another $20 from an OU college student. The doctor seems like she forgot all her studies of becoming a patron of medicine. You want to be a doctor to save lives and make a difference, not do what it takes to make an extra dollar. I took her to another vet in Norman, OK and she said it wasn't necessary to sedate your dog again. All she said was you need to re-wrap her bandages again, which she did and prescribed a new drug to me. All I have to say is do not go to this veterinarian. Read the other reviews written by other customers. She also has a bunch of children who are apparently her "assistants." At first I thought it looked very sketchy that she had children under the age of 16 working alongside her. It is very unprofessional. Even the front desk lady felt bad for me after I got chewed out. I was in no way trying to be aggressive because my dog was hurt, and I appreciated what she did for my dog, but I did not appreciate the unprofessional lecture. It felt as if I was being scolded by my mother and I am 21 years old.

STAY AWAY! Very unprofessional. Go to Eastmoor Animal Clinic on 400 SE 4th St. in Moore, OK which is a few miles away.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE

My dog had broken her bone and I came here to get it "fixed". We paid over a 1000 dollars just so that so called vet doctor could put a stick in my dogs leg and later have that stick puncture her skin and stick out because the "doctor" didn't secure the pin properly. She is rude and likes to blame the problem on the pet or the owner. She is very unprofessional and I would definitely not recommend ANYONE to come here. We went to several different vet hospitals to have them tell us that the procedure done to my dog wasn't the best option and she should've plated the broken femur instead of just pinning it. We are currently going to get my dog looked at by a true professional and not some lady who likes to call herself a veterinarian that only cares about how much money she can pocket out of us. Because in the end she will keep all the money, blame the improper procedure on you and tell you to leave. She has the indecency to talk to us in a manner that was very unpleasant with some yelling because I was upset about how my dog wasn't treated correctly and had a freaking stick punctured her leg.
DO NOT COME HERE.

Dr Puterbaugh is very professi...

Dr Puterbaugh is very professional which to some distraught owners may seem uncaring but I can tell you that she cares more about animals than most of the owners who are complaining. I adopted two cats from her -- one of which is 12 years old and has vision problems with her right eye. Pearl would have been put to sleep at a shelter but Dr. P kept her. When I adopted Pearl and Dod, Dr. P made sure that I microchiped them and that I was a consciencious owner before she would allow me to adopt them. Recently Pearl had a spot on her belly that I was worried about. I took her to Dr. Puterbaugh who recommended that we have it removed. A few days later I took her back because she had been licking the area and irritated it. Pearl had to wear an E collar (which fit just fine) and we were given a cream to apply to the area until it was healed. Pearl is fine and the spot turned out to be a benign granuloma but I am grateful that Dr. P was caring enough to want to be sure.

My cats are the most affectionate cats I have ever known (let alone owned) which is a testimate to the fine, loving care they got while with the AHAHEC. I am so glad that I met Jackie Puterbaugh and her clinic. She knows her craft and will answer any questions you may have. If she thinks tests are needed then they are ... she isn't just trying to run needless tests for the money -- she cares about animals too much to put them through needless discomfort. I would recommend this clinic to anyone emergency or not. And the reason it doesn't seem like other vet clinics is that it is clean and doesn't smell like a kennel or animal shelter.

I think the people who gave this clinic low ratings would complain if you gave them a free meal that it wasn't hot enough or was food they didn't like.

Where are your facts to support that she is professional? The fact that she took in a sick cat is the more humane side of humanity and the fact that she is a veterinarian, isn't out of the ordinary for her to adopt a cat. I have had bad experiences and I just received a letter from the Board of Medical Examiners stating that there was error in her practice. Further action is being taken as I gather up the rest of the information from the Board of Medical Examiners. She is very short-tempered with people. If you want to open a private practice, then treat customers with respect and dignity, because if they could have done this at home, they wouldn't go to a vet. This source is unreliable. She hasn't stated any evidence. She does have multiple children running around the compound and dressed in doctor uniforms. Highly unprofessional.

Had an absolutely terrible experience. My weimaraner was attacked and we took him here because it was the closed open hospital. Not only we they unnattentive and just plain awkward but they didn't care for our dog.

1. Our dog had bite marks around his neck, they put a collar around his neck and pulled him to the scale! Completely unnecessary since he would have easily walked over there.

2. We weren't greeted, I had to go to the counter after a few minutes of awkward silence and ask for help.

3. When given quotes and an over view about what needed to happen to help our recently attacked dog, they said they wouldn't simply do a surgery for only 200 dollars because it's not worth there time.

4. After surgery, we went to pick up our dog. We paid in full, and we were told by the tech to avoid cleaning the wounds. They specifically told us not to clean his wounds and not to bathe him for at least 2 weeks.

5. After returning home to Texas, we visited our regular vet to have the tubes removed. We were told that the medicine prescribed to us was incorrect and to stop using it.

We were also told that the drains weren't placed properly and they would most likely have to be re-done via a second surgery.

We were also told that we should have been flushing the wounds out with warm water 2-3 times per day.

As a result of poor care and instruction provided by AHAH, our 12 year old dog had to have a second surgery. The second surgery by our vet went very well and was well done, the drains were inserted almost all the way (AHAH had them sticking out like 5 inches, cause them not to drain properly).

After seeing how our regular vet treated and handled our dog, we realized what terrible service we had been given.

Our dog had to be put to sleep, I just don't think his body could recover from two surgeries.

I decided to leave a review on Facebook, giving them one star. Since my review, they have not stopped harassing me, insisting that I am insane and a pathological liar.

I have no reason to make any of this up, I simply hope that no one has a similar experience, because it was just awful.

Dr P doesn't sugar coat things even when you desperately want her to. Having said that she gave me a realistic expectation on my dog who means everything to me. Brought my dog in with a suspect sore on her back end and I was told it was a tumor (I had a very dramatic reaction to this news) she was calm but firm regarding treatment and she explained everything. She saved my dogs life! Not only did she do this but she did it with compassion and a love for what she does. She personally called me after surgery and told me everything. Her staff took great care for my Gracie while she recovered (I was almost worried she'd end up liking them more lol) so I am not sure how she has gotten such negative reviews but her staff is amazing they want to be there they love animals I would absolutely take my baby girl to them anytime I need a vet. I am eternally grateful to All Hours Animal Hospital ❤️❤️

Horrible office staff!!!!! I was lied to about my office fee being waived, was charged $65 for the dr to look at my dogs teeth for 45 seconds, then when I called to speak to the office manager; she was very very rude, laughed at me over the phone, continually hung up on me, even threatened me with the police if I drove up there all because I wanted to know why I was charged for something I was told by several staff on several occasions would be free! If you enjoy being lied to and people being very unprofessional to you, then this is the place....otherwise, read ALL their reviews on google, here and even facebook and go somewhere else!

This place was absolutely AMAZING!! They saved my baby when another vet told me either you pay 3 thousand for surgery and there's a 48% chance he will make it... or you put him to sleep!! Dr.P was able to get the bouncy ball out he ingested and was AWESOME! She helped us every step of the way and always answered any question we had thoroughly! She really really cares about your babies! I would highly recommend this place. Prices are actually affordable too and will not have you pay for stuff you don't need. Dr.P is very straight forward and to the point! No grey areas like other vets. All the staff was awesome as well!! All around a amazing place!!

I took my very sick dog to the All Hours Animal Hospital today, I got a bad feeling from the moment I walked in. There were 3 big dogs just roaming around the office, even though there is a sign that says you must have your dog on a leash. It made me nervous because my dog doesn't get along very well with other dogs, and I told them that, but they didn't seem to care. I was sent over to the scale to weigh my dog, as I am upset and crying, with no offer of help from anyone. I was taken in to a room, and right away made to feel bad. She was insensitive, and rude. I decided to take my dog somewhere else, but had to pay $65 for her to take his temperature and look at his teeth. I will never go back to this place and DO NOT recommend this clinic to anyone!

BEWARE!

I do not recommend anybody taking their pets to this place. My family had a sick cat and we brought him having to wait 5-10 minutes before finally having to ring the bell to get service even though she saw us walk in. She ran a few tests not knowing what was wrong with our cat and even after she ran the tests she still didn't know what was wrong. At this point our bill was already $275 just for having her look at the cat, an X-Ray, and for putting our cat on the oxygen tank. She said that the diagnosis was that our cat would not live. Then she recommended a shot that would open his lungs and help him breathe in which we agreed to not knowing right away that we had to keep our cat there over night for an addition $85. We did not want to keep him there, we wanted to take him home but she refused to let us take him. We could not afford the extra $85 so she basically said that if we could not pay to keep him over night that she was putting him down which would of cost $90 but she deducted $45 off the amount. So she would take money off to put him down but not to give him a fighting chance. So in the end we ended up putting our cat. We paid a total of $320 to get a dead cat in the end and in addition to all of this she did not know what she was doing when we were put him down, she didn't even know if she had the vein or not. She also didn't know what he was dying from even though she said he was dying. So DO NOT take your pets to this place.

Worst vet experience I've ever had. I brought in my bunny rabbit to be seen because he had a few large abscesses on his back. I had taken him to another vet before and he was on anti biotics, however this evening I had noticed that one of them was gashed open and was bleeding. I knew he had done this himself because he had been cleaning it non-stop. When I brought him in, the service at the front desk was polite, but seemed a bit uneducated (he did not even know how much the visit fee was). I had to wait in an exam room for about 15 minutes and when the "Dr" finally came in she did not introduce herself or greet me, instead started off by saying, "Oh my God!" when she saw the wound. She automatically told me that his bumps were tumors when I had already been told they were abscesses and also had done a large amount of research, all of which led me to believe they were abscesses. The original vet had told me that rabbits' puss is very thick almost like putty so it is impossible to get the puss out using a needle (which I also had found through my research) but as soon as I told the so called Dr that they were definitely abscesses she immediately began poking him very roughly with a needle. As expected, nothing came out. She then began accusing me of leaving something sharp around him for him to have cut himself on. She also bashed me for the size of his cage, and by bashed I mean was outright yelling at me. As I am a first time rabbit owner I could understand her suggesting a different cage for him, but the way she was talking to me was completely hateful and unsympathetic. I was a concerned pet owner who was extremely upset and worried for my pet and I was shown absolutely no compassion whatsoever. She tried to tell me she was going to put him to sleep with anesthesia to lance the abscesses(which she swore were tumors) even though when I asked the vet tech if it was safe to put rabbits under he told me that it was extremely risky. So I took my baby bunny, told her I wasn't paying her a dime more than I already had, and got the hell out of there. Moral of the story is veterinarians need to be educated, but more than that, compassionate. DO NOT take your animals to this place. Take them somewhere that cares more about their well-being than a paycheck.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS....STAY AWAY!!!!! My son & daughter-in-law took their 3 month old dog in because he was sick. He tested positive for parvo. The "Dr." said that it was a mild case so for $900 that could save him. When my son told them all he had was $300 they said well we can send you home w/the meds & you can treat him but it will cost you $300. (go figure) My son not knowing any better, agreed. An hour after he left the clinic Cowboy (the dog) was dead!! They knew EXACTLY what they were doing taking advantage of young adults!! My kids are heart broken and had to get help buying groceries because they spent their money trying to save their baby. When my daughter-in-law called them to tell them they acted like "Oh well, sucks to be you"..... Our 4-legged babies are members of our family, I can't believe ANY vet would treat an animal or a human this way!! If this thing would let me not choose a star at all, there wouldn't even be a 1 star rating.....

Let me start this review off by saying I am a member of the veterinary profession. I am a veterinary technician. I do not condone bashing of ANY clinic, however, I do believe in education. If the clinic I work at offered emergency over night care and I had access to the clinic, I would never have come here to begin with. Earlier in the day the veterinarian I work with had vaccinated my dog. It is known that she has had an allergic reaction in the past, so before vaccinating her we pre-medicated her with a benadryl (diphenhydramine) injection. After she was pre-medicated, we vaccinated her. She stayed at the clinic with me all day for observation reaction free. I took home a diphenhydramine injection and dexium sp injection in case she had a reaction later in the evening (her reactions typically are not severe) . When I noticed she was having a reaction I made sure she was stable and then gave her the diphenhydramine injection IV that I had brought home. She had a hyper sensitive reaction ( please also note that she did not have a hypersensitivity reaction this morning to the same inj). Alarmed by the hyper sensitivity and the fact that she had tried to vomit, I knew I needed to take her somewhere immediately. I was very frazzled. Unfortunately, the closest emergency clinic to me is the All Hours Emergency Clinic. I had already been in contact with two of the veterinarians I work with and even called one while I was waiting to be helped by the receptionist/tech. The veterinarian I work with suggested IV Fluids and observation, and I totally agreed. I then told the receptionist/tech the same story that you are reading now. We took her into the exam room and the technician examined her. She then got the doctor. The doctor came in and examined her, all of which took two minutes. And then proceeded to lecture me about things I am already familiar with. I had over heard the technician tell her that I was a veterinary technician so obviously the doctor was well aware. The doctor then told the technician that she needed steroids (which I already knew) and asked her to go get a steroid inj. Please keep in mind that she did not even calculate a dose, nor check to make sure she was giving the correct dose she simply rattled off to the tech how much to draw up. Thankfully, I had. The tech then asked the doctor if she wanted to give it IM or directly under the skin)and the doctor instructed her to give it under the skin. I have NEVER EVER seen any of the veterinarians that I have worked with give a vaccine reaction patient a steroid injection subcutaneously. Why? Because it will take much longer for the body to absorb it than if it were to be given intramuscular or IV. I was so frazzled and frustrated I just let the technician give the injection. I should have stopped her right then and there and taken my dog somewhere else. If I wanted her to have a dex injection alone, I would have just kept her at home. So, here I am $80 later very disappointed and enraged. Over night observation and IV fluids were never even mentioned. This is a poor excuse for an emergency practice. I have seen several ER reports come through my fax from this emergency clinic and often have wondered along with the doctors that I practice with, what the hell was this emergency doctor thinking? If you value your time, your money, and your pets health, please do not waste your time at the All Hours Animal Hospital. You will be much better off at either Animal Emergency Center, Neels or Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Assistance. I am very concerned about this veterinarian practicing medicine. AGAIN I PLEAD DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!!!

I do not recommend this pet hospital

On 2-7-13 at approximately 7:12 pm I took my 4yr old Olde English bulldogge to All Hours Animal Hospital located at 609 NW 8th Street Moore, OK in reference a large amount of blood coming from inside my dog’s mouth. I could only observed an avulsed lower right lateral incisor tooth. Once inside I made contact with Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM. I explained the events leading to my dog’s injury. She took approx 2 minutes with an examination. She advised me my dog had broken his jaw in two places and would need surgery immediately. She explained to me that she could wire his jaw or install plates. I was then handed an estimate of the cost of the surgery. I had my concerns due to the fact she only examined him for approximately 2 minutes and handed me a bill in the thousands of dollars within 10 minutes of my arrival. No x-rays was taken and my dog was moving his mouth normal beside for the loose tooth and large amount of blood. He didn’t show any signs of a possible broken jaw when you touched his jaw area. I contacted a friend that is in the medical field that advised I should get a second opinion before I allow Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM operate on my dog. I advised Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM staff that I was going take my dog to Neel Veterinary Hospital located at 2700 North MacArthur Blvd Oklahoma City, OK. I had to pay an examination emergency fee of $46.75. Upon arrival to Neel Veterinary Hospital I was greeted by the staff. They immediately escorted us to a nice clean waiting room with a sofa. They removed the blood from my dog’s face and within minutes a doctor was inside the room. They examined inside my dog’s mouth, jaw and skull. She observed all the blood was coming from the lower right lateral incisor tooth and that his jaw didn’t appear to be broken. She instructed her staff to X ray my dog’s jaw to confirm it wasn’t broken since Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM stated his jaw was broken in two places. X ray came back negative that his jaw wasn’t broken and the tooth needed to be extracted. On 2-8-13 at approximately noon I went back to All Hours Animal Hospital with a copy of surgery report and X Ray in attempt to be reimburse for the huge incorrect diagnoses and poor examination of my dog. Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM wasn’t there at the time and called me at approximately 4:34pm. She was rude and displayed an unprofessional conduct. She advised me she wasn’t going to refund my money and my dog jaw was a little loose and it might been the loose tooth that she was feeling. I asked Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM why she stated his jaw was broken in two places and gave me a bill on how much the surgery was going to be if she wasn’t sure of his diagnoses. She started yelling and stated, “When u go to see any doctor you going to pay a fee.” This misdiagnosis taught me about the importance of taking an active role in making sure u aren’t getting scammed out of money when u are in a vulnerable situation. I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL. Puterbaugh, Jackie DVM was negligent in the process of veterinary medicine, unprofessional conduct when she called me and substandard care when misdiagnosis my dog s broken tooth for broken jaw in two places.

Fellow Rescue Crusader

I have worked with MANY veterinarians over the years, both as a pet mother and dog rescuer... I met Dr. Jackie Puterbaugh at about 3 in the morning when I rushed my 8 year old Australian Cattle Dog in to her office because he suddenly started yelping when he tried to walk. This was the beginning of a lasting bond... Since that time Dr. Puterbaugh has become my primary vet and fellow "comrade-in-arms" when it comes to rescuing dogs that would otherwise be put to death at local local animal shelters. We realize that local shelters, ran my city government, do have the means to save all of the animals they receive. So, on NUMEROUS occasions, Dr. Puterbaugh has donated the medical care (some of which required lengthy hospital stays in her facility) to rescue unwanted/abused dogs.

I specifically appreciate Dr. Puterbaugh's honesty and direct approach when it comes to her professional opinion. I am thankful that my Australian Cattle Dog lead us to her hospital that scary night, and I will always respect her advice when it comes to the medical care of my dogs! :)

Dr. Puterbaugh is the most giving and caring person I know towards the animals. She has saved so many strays lives on her own time. I have even taken my own dogs to her and I left the clinic feeling so much better about the way my dogs were taken care of. I definitely will take my dogs back to her and I will definitely recommend her to my friends. The staff was also wonderful and friendly people.

I use Dr. Peutegrah (sp?) as my regular Veterinarian. She has seen my Cane Corso since the first day I got her. She vaccinated her, spayed her, helped identify she was allergic to the food I was first feeding her, etc etc... I LOVE the fact that she doesn't sugar coat anything. She is knowledgeable and I always get great service when I go. I had to get a vaccine for Betsy last night before she started a doggy day care today and it was nice to be able to bring her up their at 9:30 pm. I just called her in advanced and let her know I was coming. I would recommend this place to anyone. She is a great vet and knows what she is doing.
