I pay for 2 garbage cans and constantly have to call them because they will only empty one can when they bother to come around at all. This week, they picked up neither and we put them out the night before!!! I pay online and maybe that is my problem, but I am showing that my account is current and has been current. And, yes, I have had them remove my cans before and had to go to Moody to pick up new ones because somehow their system didn't show that I paid??? They apologized but I would have had to wait 4-6 weeks for new cans to be delivered. I am so tired of dealing with this for YEARS!!!! I just wished they would get their acts together..

First off..they keep changing everything! Some way, I supposely didnt pay the 34.00 dollars and had to pay 142.00 to get the trash picked up again. They even took my trash can and tried to charge me 15.00 dollars to bring it back! I called to get sum tree limbs picked up..7-10 business days..Are you serious??? I even tried to prepay for the year..but that is not allowed..! I wish I had another option besides going to the city dump..smmfh

What a waste.

Like a lot of folks, I can remember when the city used to take care of trash pick up, and I can remember the work being pretty thorough.
I am growing tired of paying a whole lot for less and less service.
Who told these folks at Veolia that, if it doesn't fit in the can, they aren't responsible for it? Was it you? It certainly wasn't me. I thought we were the customer and that they worked for us?
I'm thinking of starting a website where we citizens can post photographs of the shameful, ugly mess these Veolians leave behind. I'm not sure what we need to do about this as citizens but we by god need to do something.

I am thinking of calling 6 on your side! And anyone else having problems with them should also. Because we can get in trouble with the local government for a health hazard that is not our fault. Considering this is our only choice of waste pickup services it is a serious problem!
There is obviously no one doing anything at this business. They won't answer the phone, Their website is not responding and the idiots still have a message for the holidays on their answering service!

You know when you have had enough

Dispite continous service issues that go back years I have tried to tough it out, though I really don't know why. The final straw was when the driver who normally doesn't pick me up when scheduled ran over my garbage can. I think they have been telling me for years to move on and I just didn't listen. Well Veolia I hear you I am moving on.

Employees need proper training....or fired

Once again I have had an entire morning wasted in trying to help my mother handle her affairs. The problem? Poor...even non existent customer service...AGAIN!!!!
NEVER have I ever been treated so rudely by any 'customer service' (GAG) employees as I have been by this company. To top that off...they do not have consistent pick up service, for which if you complain they ignore you. I wish I could get credit for all the times my poor mother has paid for service she didn't get. They demand your money...but don't pick up the garbage!!. Their 'system' is lacking in common sense and their 'courteous customer service' is completely PATHETIC. In the past year they have made my poor elderly Mother CRY because of the hateful way in which she was spoken to. Then when I told them I didn't appreciate it they told me she was LYING!!!!!!!! Well THEY were the liars.
During this summer, twice I have called to complain that her garbage was not picked up....and please credit her account. It was ignored...her garbage not picked up...and they still got their money.
Once...the truck spilled garbage all the way up the road. The neighbors garbage from 3 houses down was in my mother's yard...and hers was drug past her driveway...and on the other side of her other neighbor there were bags in the road. I called them and told them and they said they were NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DRIVER!!!! Well may I ask WHO IS????? The neighbors and my mom tried to get it picked up. They did nothing!
In May, when her garbage was left on the side of the road on pick up day again the neighborhood dogs got into it. (They didn't pick up on the correct day)She almost got hit by a car trying to get it picked up herself. Later, I was told that they never changed the pick up dates unless it was a holiday and that they had picked up on the correct date. WRONG!! If they had picked up on Thursday why was Mom on the side of the road FRIDAY picking it up herself?????
Two weeks later, it happened again. The 'unchangable' pick up day of Thursday...was suddenly and inexcusably changed to Saturday. By that time I had paid someone to come pick it up myself. I asked for a credit....but was again IGNORED!!!!
I would sugges re-training employees in how to talk to customers. The one who accused my Mother of being drunk (She had a STROKE...her speech was slurred!!!) should be hauled out of their and sent on her way. The man who made her cry because he told her she'd have to call back when she could talk better should be fired as well. WHAT A PATHETIC WAY TO TREAT THE ELDERLY!!!!
I will be GLAD to not have to deal with them anymore! I am currently making other arrangements.
No one should have to PAY to be treated like THEY are the garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Lord these people are awful

Sometimes I get a bill, sometimes I don't. If I don't happen to have a reminder set to pay them, I may not remember on my own once per quarter. On one such occasion, I missed a payment because I didn't get a bill. Well of course, they just didn't pick up my trash, so that's how I found out. Because you can't get them to answer the phone (I'm currently on hold going on 14 minutes), I just sent them the same amount as the previous quarter. The check posted to my account two weeks ago, and they still won't pickup my trash. Eventually, when I get someone on the phone they are gonna hear it. I wish there were other choices for trash pickup at my house.

Lost my business and got my business in just a few hrs

i have changed my rating from one star to two. i'll explain.
i rolled my garbage out to the street as the trash truck was going down my adjoining street. my neighbors to the left and right and across the street already had theirs out.
as the trash truck started down my short road(three houses besides mine) i went back in to finish getting ready for work.
when i came out everyone had their trash picked up but mine.
when i got to work i called and waited the normal 30mins...its been that way for 8yrs. once the lady got to me i explained my problem...she called the driver who said i didn't have my trash out! she said sir you didn't have your trash out...i told her everything written at the top of this post...she said i was lying!!!
i said i want to cancel and she said ok. i said wow you really want my business..she said it dosent really matter. needless to say i canceled.
i emailed the national level not expecting anything...i just wanted to complain and let them no that there are more than one review online with similar experiences.
to my surprise i was called by a manager who credited my account for a quarter and sent a supervisor to my house to pick up my trash.
they earned my business back, but like the manager even said...they have some work to do on customer service...starting with the 30min hold i have gone through every time i have called over the 8yrs.
ill change to 4 stars if they continue to improve and prove to me they mean what they told me on the phone today. btw, according to this site...two stars is sorta good.
i told them about this site, hopefully theyll reach out to the others on here who have had problems as well.

No service!

We had decent service for years until they recently ""changed the routing and account numbers"" and since then we have called repeatedly with promises of service...but we're still waiting. Last pickup was March 16th. Maybe I'll just take my trash to their main office and dump it on their doorstep.

Takes you money but doesn't give service

Didn't pick up waste that was prepaid for a quarter. When I asked for refund for non-service I was told they would refund from ""the day I called"", but not back to the beginning of the quarter for which I had paid and gotten no service. (duh?) I guess they think their customers are stupid.

I tried to explain that I had been calling for weeks and each time was assured I would get a pick up in a couple of day. Now, it's my fault that I didn't ask for them to cancel the service on day one. It just doesn't make any sense.

Don't do business with them. They are just money grabbers who have no attentions of providing a decent service for a fair payment. Sad, but true.

Horrible customer service/response

I moved into my new residence in March 2008. After calling customer service approximately 12 times (seriously...) and waiting on hold for about 30 minutes each time (sometimes longer), I finally received my trash can in JULY 2008. The lady I spoke with at customer service informed me, ""Even though you do not have your trash can yet, you are paying for our service (they already had my credit card info in their system), so place your bags outside, and the driver will pick them up."" Obviously the driver did not pick the bags up, considering they were not inside a trash can, and I obviously didn't have the sticker yet. I had just moved into my home so of course I had boxes stacked to the ceiling. The lady at customer service informed me ""As long as the boxes are broken completely down, the driver will pick them up even if they are placed beside the trashcan, rather than inside the trash can."" Well, I'm sure you can guess... I left the boxes (completely broken down ) beside my trash can, and the driver did not touch them. I have a friend who lives in Moody and he mentioned to me that I ""should see their office"". He said there is probably no more than 10 employees working in their entire office (obviously understaffed considering they serve the entire northern Alabama community -- I live in Gadsden, AL). Needless to say, If I didn't HAVE to deal with this company, I would not.

I called in to report my garbage was missed. After waiting a few minutes, the customer service rep answered, Trendel (I believe), long story short it was the sticker that was not on the can. Even still, the lady offered to have the driver come back, but told me there would be a $10 fee. Needless to say, I will just wait until next week. KUDOS for having someone that can still help in a bind (even if I wasn't willing to pay).

Horrible customer service

We have had brush and wood from rebuilding our deck in our front yard for over two months now. We have scheduled pickups on six different occasions with no success in ever getting anyone out to the house. This is a service that we pay for monthly that is supposed to be provided to us and I've seen the truck drive by our house look at the debris in the front yard and drive on by. The city came by and left a citation on our door concerning the mess and our relationship with the neighbors is strained now because they cant follow through with the simple task of picking up our trash. They changed their pickup policy without sending out a notice telling anyone they were doing so. They schedule times to pick up debris and never show. You wait an hour on the phone when making a complaint or need to talk to customer service. Bad business ethic, horrible company. Good luck to anyone who has to deal with them.

Terrible customer service

Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Long phone waits. No help when finally answer phone. No communication on holiday pickups.
