I was looking for a shop close to my home, so I called about 1:00. Ms. Asma told me I could come at 4. I got tree braids and I was home by 6:00. No playing around, act as though she knew you and all was good. She remembered me when I came back. I still go there.
I came based on the great reviews. I went thinking I was gonna get my hair done by yabo herself but another woman did. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!! I show this woman a pic of the size I wanted my braids and she put these little braids in my head. At one point I had two people at a time braiding my hair which normally I wouldn't mind. One the hairdresser to my right and one was the apprentice to my left. Every time the apprentice would pull my head to her the hairdresser would YANK MY HEAD BACK TO HER DIRECTION!!!! The hairdresser and two appentrices were going back and forth on my head because the hairdresser did like two heads between my head. A little over a week later and 7 braids have slipped out of my head ALONG WITH MY REAL HAIR. My experience could of been better if someone else was working on my head like yabo herself. I will never visit this place and do not recommend. I would hate for anyone to experience the same treatment I received.
I let them do my daughter's hair when she finished it look a hot mess she didn't want to go to school with hair like that if your getting goddess braids I wouldn't recommend them
Pros: It doesn't take too long to get box braids installed. It took me 5 hours and I have a big head lol. The setup is decent. They have a nice TV.Cons: I've only had my box braids installed for a couple weeks and they look like I've had them installed for a couple months. Seven braids have already slipped out and the ends look really raggedy. The hair they use seems to be low quality. When I lived in Illinois, I've had micro braids, box braids, and Senegalese twists done, all while having short natural hair and have never had this issue before. The hair remained smooth and intact and I was able to keep them in for two months before taking them out. I might have to take these out sooner though :(
New to the Montgomery area and was looking for a salon who specialize in box braids. Looked through the yellow pages and happen to call this shop and I was happy I choose them. The shop was nice and clean. I gad two women to braid my hair and I was in and out in about 3.5 hours, less than I have ever expierenced. Yes I would recommend to others and yes I would go back to them to get my hair braided.
They are very good with time management. I was in and out in about 3.5 hours which is the first for me with micros and a very important plus for me. However, I am not completely happy with my micros. I feel they could have been alot better. I understand my hair is short but i still they could have looked better because my hair is not that short the front. Plus, they told me an original price which was higher than what they had posted when I got there. They charged me more for my hair being short (which I did not mind) but I think they could have told me of that possibility when I told them my hair was short over the phone. i do not think I would go back.
The best hair braiding shop in Montgomery. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable of hair and hair styles.
Stay away from this place. I wish I had taken the time to read reviews. I went for Senegalese twists, got charged a fee (after arriving) for the length, the parting was horrid(too large in the middle and far too small in the front) braided my edges so tight and with so little of my hair that one twist broke off before I even got home! Also they braid the roots of the twists AND burn the ends o_O. I paid $170 to have the hair of an old Barbie. I could barely run my fingers through the twists and when I did, a mass of burnt kanekalon was everywhere. I haven't had these for an entire week and I'm already preparing to take them down. All of that is in addition to the general unprofessional atmosphere of this place. Honestly, I should've just turned around from the beginning but I've certainly learned my lesson. Just pay more and go to a salon with running water and professionals!
