Mangold is a very professional property management company that provides excellent customer service to renters. It is always comforting to know that your property management team has your back. My concerns are given the highest priority. The washing machine needed to be replaced and a new one was ordered a day later and received before the end of the week. I couldn't get the heater to work during a cold spell and the property manager checked on it that morning, reprogrammed it so that I would return to a warm and comfy home. I have nothing but praise for the entire team (Scott, Erica and members of the maintenance staff) who have made my transition back to my home state just about as seamless as possible. If I had 3 thumbs, I would give them a 3 thumbs up! Stop looking for another property management team and call Mangold!
I went to visit family and left my keys in the car my cousin call the manager I believe her name was Michelle Duran she came and helped me open the car. Michelle was really polite and caring towards my needs she made me feel welcome and care for. My cousin agreed that she is always there when needed plus she makes sure everything is nice and clean.
Craig and his team at Mangold Property Management are the best in the industry. We have properties in other states and other property management companies as well. They are good but Mangold really shines. We've done business with Mangold since 2011 and have always been extremely satisfied with their work. They always found us good quality tenants, were always kept in the loop and very responsive to our tenants needs as well as ours. They are great at holding tenants accountable and making sure they are abiding to the terms of their lease agreement. It doesn't always make the tenant happy and sometimes get pushback, but they stick to their policies and procedures. In the future if we have a need for a property management company in the Monterey area no other company will even be considered.
We were extremely nervous about renting from Mangold after the military housing lady tried to discourage us and insisted that we should live on base or rent from someone on the list she maintained. However, we loved the house so we took a chance and are extremely happy we did. We had nothing but positive experiences with Mangold, particularly Dennis, Craig, and the ladies that helped set up our lease. I read through all of the negative reviews and can say that they do expect you to leave the home clean and undamaged, which is part of being a good tenant. As a homeowner that relies on a management company to care for our home, I value their commitment to both the tenant and homeowner. We have experienced poor management of our home from another management firm which resulted in over $4500 in damage to our home from our latest tenant. I would gladly rent from Mangold Property Management again and I would feel confident in them managing my property. We rented an older home that had a couple of plumbing concerns and every time they quickly dispatched their contractor who was always very professional. I would agree that the move in and move out inspector Steve can seem a bit rushed and rough around the edges, but he has to deal with a lot of unruly tenants as well as the good tenants. He is a good guy and he is very thorough, which you can only appreciate if you own a rental. They work well with the military, allowing us to terminate our lease a few weeks before our lease end date and prorating our rent according to their military clause. Our deposit was returned in full within 10 days of our inspection, which included the time it took to arrive in the mail during the holiday season. All in all we had an exceptional experience with Mangold Property Management.
So i lived here at north gate village for about 2 1/2 years and had very minimal issues with this company if any. When my sink was leaking, they had a 24/7 emergence maintance line i called which promptly got a maintance guy out even though it was the holidays or some wierd off hour. Didnt charge me a dime. I also had a cracked window at one point which they noticed during their annual inspection, i had to get it fixed and they did not charge me anything. Only time they charged me was when i locked myself out once i believe. Also didnt charge me when i broke the thing u pull up where the water come up for a bath, as i had taken a bath the time before and wanted to shower. Within a day or two, they had a maintence guy come out who replaced the entire thing, not just the broken part. Didnt charge me for that, either. I did have an issue when security towed my car once as i was taking the bus at the time, and the management group did nothing to tell me the car got towed so I had to call the police to find out where it went. Was like 550 or 600 i had to pay on the spot for the tow. I contacted mangold and they said it was bc it looked inoperable condition and also bc the parking sticker was on the front left windshield instead of back bottom left. They were willing to work with me and give me all my money back but 150$ saying they technically didnt have to give me anything, which they didnt because technically my sticker was on the wrong side. Still was expensive and could have been handled in a better manner, but the fact they gave most my money back still makes me want to give them 5/5 stars. Apartment was a little dirty for the annual inspection also, but whoever inspected was very polite and called asking to set up new inspection date and to clean it up a little, which I did. On his return, there were no problems and he was very complimentary even saying "he wishes could have a beer with me" so, despite having anxeity issues, and keeping apartment a little messy, they were very accomodating for me. So that pretty much comes to my conclusion which is pretty straightforward; they are an excellant management company which i personally enjoyed and had almost no issues.
TIP: you have issues with their decisions/need a relair, communicate politely and often it will work out good for everyone involved.

The company robs you when it's time to move out. They charge for what "normal" rental companies would consider standard cleaning fees (quick dusting and cleaning carpet) adding up to be over $300) they also charge painting fee or touch up fee ($400) my appartment manage informed me they were not strict upon move in of making silly charges for the standard tac hole in the wall however this seems to be very untrue. When it came time to move out you can clean your apartment as much as you would like but they will still rob you of at least half your security deposit for the bare minimum of cleaning. Why bother give a security deposit for "damage" if you're going to take money anyways when there was no damage even done.
As promised I am updating a recent bad review after Brian called and acknowledged mistakes. Unfortunately he is dealing with previews bad experiences that happened while he was yet not working for the company and is doing an amazing job at following up. He patiently listened to me rant and calmly responded and agreed. He asked me how my new adventure is at my new home out of state which was thoughtful.
Steve is a good guy, just make sure to ask him to write anything wrong you see weather he agrees or not because it doesn't hurt, and it'll only help you when you move out. Worst case scenario is that his fingers fall off while you make him write down anything you think is important. And back up your pictures!
Also, their representatives at the front desk are really sweet and hard working not to mention always in a good mood. I feel bad that I did not take them in consideration to my previews review for a better one. Thank you guys!
Mangold has been managing my mother's properties for almost 20 years. I lived 300 miles away and as she aged she needed more help than just managing the property. Without their help and compassion she could not have managed to keep the property as she started forgetting to pay things like taxes and insurance. She passed away and now I have those properties and I wouldn't have anyone but Mangold manage them. I never had a complaint from the tenants and they have been flexible and responsive to them as far as I can see. I think complaints about rents being raised is not Mangold doing but more the owners. Craig, Dennis, Julie and Karen have been wonderful.
Dennis and Erika at Mangold are great folks! From the start they have been both professional and kind. Helpful to say the least, we love our corner house and whenever there are maintenance issues someone is there within an hour to fix it. Thanks a million to the team at Mangold!
Moving into my first place managed by Mangold has been the smoothest experience by far. Dennis, Luis & Erika have always been very helpful and very quick to respond to anything I need. Francisco is always professional on the phone and adds in his funny sense of humor. Also a huge shout out to the new plumbing company based out of Castroville that Dennis sent to my house with my ongoing shower issue, the owner was WONDERFUL and I recommend anyone with plumbing issues directly to him! He personally took time out of his day to make sure everything was done right and to make sure I was happy, I'll always remember that.
Our business rents space through Mangold Properties and has been very pleased with their management. When leaving messages at their office, communication follow-through has been excellent with prompt response to inquiries and requests. Scott Coming is personable, professional, and responsive to any problems we may encounter. We cannot ask for more from the landlords or the property managers. We can highly recommend their management services.
