Saga Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

This is the best Japanese Restaurant in Pittsburgh!!! The food was excellent! My date and I shared the Hibachi steak and chicken that had a special chef's sauce that was heavenly!! We plan to return again and again. Plus, the atmosphere was exotic and beautiful!

I've eaten here several times weather at the Bar or in the restaurant at the hibachi style tables. The food cooked at the table is a bit better than Shogun but not quite as good as Benihana. However, the Sushi is excellent. Always fresh and presented in a magnificent fashion. Jeff the bar manager is amazing as well. He has a mind like a steel trap, very courteous and efficient. I highly recommend this place!

I have ate at this restaurant twice and the 2nd time was the icing on the cake for why I will NEVER go back to this restaurant! The first time was a friends party. I wasn't feeling well and wanted to order just a very light dinner (which I told the waiter). The server was EXTREMELY rude and demanded that I order food or I was no longer allowed to stay at the restaurant. Was so shocked and didn't want to ruin the night I just ordered. Now the 2nd visit was just as worse. This was family dinner and everything went well until we ordered. One of our other guests had a easy and simple question about the food. The waiter (who spoke absolute horrible English) was very rude. We could barely understand a word he said, started yelling and walked away while we were asking him questions. I wish I could say what he said but I we couldn't understand. Then the waiter doesn't bring out all of our food at the same time. They were at about 10 min. intervals for each person NO JOKE!! Drinks were not refilled because he only returned to our table for the drink order and food. Theeeen the bill comes. It was over a $100 which was high. We also had a coupon with us. The waiter came to get the check and said "no good - it holiday". It was mothers day. I could not believe how rude the staff was for how much money we spent. Please do not eat here. The food is just as good at other restaurants very close to the mall. Eat at Shogun (Hibachi), China Palace, or Tai Pei-Tokyo. All these places are with in 1.5 miles. Service is AWESOME along with the food. I have eaten at these places many times.

We enjoyed the food here, but it was a 4+ hour experience.

It is a great "party" atmosphere and very lively.

It is a little pricy and the chefs/waiters were a little heavy handed with the saki while we were there.



If you're looking for family or relaxing atmosphere, stay clear. Otherwise, kick up your heels and enjoy.

Great Food, Great Fun!! A wonderful way to spend a birthday.

My husband and I had 8:30 reservations from the Monday before Valentine's Day. That evening we got to Sawa and were told that they were on number 19....we were 123!!! We finally got to the table and ordered drinks at 10:30. The salads looks recycled, as though they were taken from nearby tables and given to us. The soup tasted like hot dog water, there were no green onions or mushrooms as described. The table chef shot saki into the mouths of high school students who were sharing our table. (We got to know them by the time we were seated to eat.) The habachi chicken I ordered was still pink in the middle, and having noticed that about four or five motuhfuls into the meal, I stopped eating. At that time the chef was nowhere to be seen...the waitress was not attentive, and I could find no one in management. The placed closes at 11:00, so since it was 10:30 when we were seated, half way through the ordeal disco lights and loud music came on, ushering us out the door. (That's actually when I noticed the chicken was under cooked!) The bathrooms were dirty, the door to the handicapped stall was dislodged and laying against the wall, about to fall over. I will never go there again, it was the WORST VALENTINE'S DAY both myself and my husband have ever had.
