Established in 1895, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is a social service organization that offers a range of educational, social, medical and recreational programs for Jewish children, youths and adults. It includes early childhood development centers that focus on the development of Jewish culture and creative expression skills through art, music and storytelling. The organization organizes field trips, summer camps, cookouts and festival celebrations. It also provides lessons in games and conducts and participates in sports clinics and tournaments for basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, bowling, dance, golf, swimming, table tennis and tennis. Additionally, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is a beneficiary of the United Jewish Federation the United Way.
