Founded in 1969, the Monroe Academy is a privately held day school. It enrolls more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school offers learning opportunities in mathematics, foreign language, history, English, computer applications and science. The Monroe Academy employs a guidance counselor, physical trainer, computer expert, teachers and paraprofessionals. Its extracurricular activities include football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, tennis and golf. The school additionally offers a variety of menu items for lunch, including chocolate pudding, ice cream, cookies, pizzas, pork chops, hamburgers, cheese steaks and salads. Located in Monroeville, Ala., the Monroe Academy is accredited by the Alabama Independent School Association.
