My experience was that if you require anything beyond their standard run-it-through (a stain treatment, for instance) you may not get it. And if you’re not happy with their service, owner Mills doesn’t care.

I took 2 men’s blazers in for cleaning. On one I put masking-tape on several stains & pointed them out to the attendant. When I went to pick them up, it was obvious that no attempt had been made to address the stains.

His words about the stains were “there are no guarantees.” And while that may be true, in order to get repeat business, you’d think they’d at least have tried to get the stains out & that a customer’s satisfaction would matter.

He offered to clean the jacket again. I said okay & told him I’d pay for it when I picked it up, but he immediately turned nasty and demanded that I pay for it first.

When I told him that I’d not pay for sub-standard service, this man of over 6’ height and between 200-300 pounds stood over me and yelled at me in front of other customers and his employees… with so much vehemence, that he spit on me while he was yelling. He then instructed his employee to get the phone and call the police. He even started to put his hands on me when I went to put the one jacket that I paid for in my car.

All this over a $5 disagreement.

And the stains? I got them out with “Dryel” at-home dry cleaning solution. Wish I’d just done that to start. In the future, I will. I will never take anything else to Mills Cleaners and will advise my friends to do the same.
