We have been seeing Dr Sandhu for years! We have two Old English dogs and the first time our girl Tillie got pregnant back in 2019 we took her to him to see how many puppies she would have. He told us 8 puppies total and we were so excited. The night she went into labor we noticed she had stopped pushing for about an hour and only delivered 3 puppies so far, so we rushed her over to American Pet Hospital because we knew she would need a C-Section. (Most bulldogs do). He seen her right away and performed the C-Section. Unfortunately he was only able to save 3 out of the 5 remaining puppies. We were so impressed with the care he provided for her as we see our animals as family members. Back in January we again go to see Dr. Sandhu because our cat Sumo was attacked by a dog. He put him on IV fluids and sedated him to perform surgery. We get a call that he is responding well and they want to keep him overnight to make sure he has no complications. Later afternoon the next day we get a call to pick him up. We pick up his meds and take him home. We were so thankful he saved our Sumo’s life! If we ever have an emergency again we will without a doubt use Dr Sandhu!

I would give this place no stars if I could. They should not be in business. They spayed my parents cat and attached stitches to her intestines; the cat died. Without knowing that this was the vet that did this, I took my lab puppy there to be neutered. They called me as he was waking up and said that one of his "members" was undesended and they wanted to know if I wanted them to put him back under and do an exploratory surgery right then. Umm no. I paid for a pre-surgery exam to see if he was ready, and they assured me that he was. They then gave me a pain prescription for a 140 lb dog, when my boy was only 40 lbs. Good thing I checked before I gave it to him. They also made me repay for the correct dosage when I returned to pick it up.

I know someone who took a rescue group of cats and dogs there to be altered. When they picked the animals up, they were groggy from meds (expected), but hadn't been altered.

There are much better vets in Modesto, so there is no need to take the risk of visiting these quacks.

If I could give them a negative star I most def will my dog died at this vet and they didn't bother calling us until my sister called what kind of crap is that. They couldn't give me a time she pass or no information about her passing. They just said that well the illness she has you never know well we know that and that's why we kept her there so she can come home and well. Not in a box. Oh and all of a sudden they couldn't fine her chart. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE.

This vet serves an important need for after hours and emergencies. However, the front office people are unprofessional and appear uncaring. The exam table had dog hair all over it from the previous visitor. I would definitely gave less stars if it wasn't for the fact that this does fill a gap for emergencies and perhaps slightly lower bills.

The Vet is personable and nice, however after care services apparently non existent. Usually owners are given a list of things to watch for after their pets surgery, a number to call if problem occur. Nothing. There website states they offer a senior discount, not true. "That's from our old website" . Really, I think they should update the site and not deceive seniors. Seemed like they were not concerned or were unaware as to how to best serve their clients and pets. Not what I expected nor used to regarding animal care.

I have been taking my dogs to this vet for many years. I have had one put down for old age and another from sickness. The staff and vet have always been sincere and professional. I now have a puppy being seen here.

This veterinary really did an awesome job and treated us with the utmost respect.

I worked at another vet for years and have dealt with this place over the phone for a number of things; copies of records for patients and bloodwork results for mutual clients. The idiot I talked to on the phone apparently didn't understand that I needed the records faxed ASAP because I had to keep calling back several times until I got frustrated at him and he finally faxed them over. Another time, they couldn't find the patient's bloodwork and that's because they don't enter the patient in until after the results get back???? A friend said her cat died because they didn't weigh her before surgery to get the correct amount of anesthesia, and the cat died as a result of too much. This was told by the tech on the phone as to why she died. Not to mention, the doctor is unprofessional.

over the sorry a$$es that work at this american pet hospital my pet is dead!!! all the doctor wanted to do was play on his phone and go to his fancy little car instead of trying to save a life then they want the highest price i have found to take care of the body!! they are the sorriest shi#y people i have ever seen!!! i just pray that they get sick and there doctor treats them the same way that they treat peoples pets and i hope that the out come is the same for them!!! i would not recommend anyone and i mean anyone to go there

I took my dog here and the doctor was very unprofessional my dog is sick and the wannabe doctor acts like he doesnt care all they want is your money plz nobody go there

My partner and I took in a stray about a month ago. We were referred to APH by a friend of ours. We had looked and felt for a scar to see if she had already been fixed and didn't see or feel one. We took our puppy there today to have her fixed. A couple of hours later I get a call stating she had previously been fixed and could be picked up tonight. When I went to pick her up I asked is there was any way they could cut part of the cost since they didn't actually do the spay there in their office and they told me no. They hadn't checked for scarring, or done x-rays her. Needless to say, I had to pay full price for them to cut my puppy open for no reason!!!

My husband dropped off our cat at American Pet Hospital because he looked a little under the weather and lost his appetite. They first told us that he had swallowed something, they kept him for testing. When I called the next day they said he had lupis. Then they said he might leukemia. They never called me, I was the one that called every 24 hrs because they kept giving me the run around. When I showed up to see how he was doing the lady up front looked like she was uner the influence of something. They totally ignored us while we stood at the front desk for about 15 minutes. My 2 yr old cat looked like crap and totally scared to be there. They never quite explained why my cat who always seemed so healthy had suddenly got sick and had to be put to sleep. I understand that animals die it just sucks not really having a clue as to why?? What wwere the x-rays & blood work for? nobody ever made me feel liked they cared about my cat or even cared to find out what was really wrong with him. A cheap price is not always a good deal.
