This is strictly a self-serve business. Employees/volunteers aren't supposed to know anything. They are good at what they are there for.
THE DHR BUILDING AT 272 N BROAD STREET MY RECENT VISIT WAS AS FOLLOW: EMPLOYEE PARKING LOT JAMMED, VISITOR PARKING LOT LEAVES AND TRASH EVERYWHERE, PARKING LOT NO LEVELED, INSIDE: LOBBY AREA DIRTY, SECURITY GUARD NEED A TELEPHONE OR INTERCOM ACCESS TO PAGE INDIVIDUALS INSTEAD OF YELLING AT THE WORKER NEXT TO HIM IN A BOOTH WHICH LOOKS LIKE A SECURITY GUARD BOOTH IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT, BEHIND THE DOORS WHERE IN EMPLOYEES WORK, CARPET LOOKS LIKE IT'S BEEN DIPPED IN MUD AND DIRTY WATER, THE LIGHTING IS BAD, THE PLACE IS CLUTTERED, LOOKS UNSAFE AND UNHEALTHY. IT'S A SHAME THAT THE STATE OF ALABAMA HAVE THERE DEDICATED EMPLOYESS WORKING UNDER SUCH CONDITIONS... THE BUILDING IS NOT FIT FOR ANIMALS TO LIVE IN!!!
I feel discriminated against. I have done everything I was asked and my card is still not loaded. I have a pregnant daughter and 2 other daughters and we have no food to eat. No one wants to help us out. Food stamp office has never answered my calls. Not once.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!God help you if you need their services. I am trying to have my problem solved since March,2012. My case worker Mrs.Robinson(No first name) first "lost" my paper work on her desk??? and couldn't find it until October(I was able to get her on the phone only once in that time frame). Finally she sent my case to the court in December and told me she will send me a letter and keep me posted.....Guess what? Now its end of May and after calling every week I'm still not able to get in touch with her, or to schedule app or even to find out her first name. I tryed to ask for a supervisor but, they almost laughed at me on the phone. Im just about to give up on all this mess. Its just a bunch of rude and unprofessionall women. And,if you are not black you are dumed. And I'm white.SHAME ON YOU DHR.
