I've been in the marine industry for years, and for many of those years I was fortunate enough to not have to use an agency to help me find employment. However, since the downfall with the oil industry I found myself laid off, with no prospective leads on my own. I found Compass and an agent of theirs on LinkedIn and decided to give them a call. They were extremely helpful and very straight forward about how things have been and will be for a while. They made me feel very comfortable with my decision in reaching out to them, even after always hearing bad things about agencies and seeing these two reviews.. Within a week or so, I got a phone call about a job opening, which I accepted very graciously! It is easy to assume the worst when you don't contact the necessary people for answers to questions when filling out paperwork. I noticed on a few reviews of this place, they were concerned about the paperwork, I too was concerned seeing as though I have never dealt with anything like it, but I did what the agent told me to do if I had any questions or needed any assistance with the paperwork, I CALLED THEM AND ASKED! They were very helpful and to simply put it: YOU AREN'T REQUIRED TO PAY A FEE IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT A POSITION! It is stated plain as day on their app. Come on guys, no question is a dumb one... seriously just call and ask if you have any concerns! I for one am very thankful for the team at Compass for helping me find work when half of the industry is drawing unemployment or forced to work on land. I would recommend them to any of my fellow mariners who may be in need of help like I was.
I've haven't used their services in a while but felt compelled to say something now. I was treated with professional and with courtesy. Anyone who lists with them will not be disappointed.
I used them. Got a job in 2 days it was worth it. Good people very helpful and they don't do minimum wage jobs, so that was good.
