I love this movie theater! It's great when you have a movie you weren't crazy about, but still want something to do that is cheap. The movies here are only $2 and they are constantly changing which movies they are showing. It may take a few weeks for the brand new movies to reach this theater, but for the price, you can't beat it. I've never seen the theater busy or packed, so plenty of room to find a seat and the seats are very comfortable.
My girlfriend and I just saw Bell(e):The Museum of Suicide Machinery at the Vortex Theater. I had no idea what to expect, but found it to be very interesting and entertaining. As the name implies, the entire theater was set up like a museum so you could walk around each 'piece' or there were som…
MYE is very family oriented and friendly. There hasn't been many places where I could take my family to go bowling, skating, movie, and eating in one location. I enjoyed the facility very much and the satff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this location.
The Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz will be playing An Audience of One March 30th and 31st. It's a funny, yet chilling documentary about a pentacostal minister whose vision of a big budget film goes wrong. It's an intriuguing look into the lives of people whose faith drives them to do crazy things.…
15. Hideout Theatre
I love the Hideout on Monday nights. With the open-mic poetry. Awesome stuff. The service is good. I love the hot and cold coffee's and especially the hot chocolate. Yummy! Oh and for the Open mic poetry. Anyone can feature. It's like the coolest thing ever. Very inspiring. Austin Rocks!
You would think, especially with their proximity to UT, that this IMAX would balance the Texas educational presentations with popular mainstream movies. But unfortunately Austinites still have to drive to San Antonio or Houston in order to see the major marketed and anticipated IMAX movies. Sad …
18. Esther's Follies
OMG! I just love Esther's Follies for the LIVE entertainment, constant activity and the roar of the laughter from the crowd... at times to be heard even on 6th Street. Got to love the enthusiasm of the stars! They are incredible, always has a packed house and THE SHOW -- always -- is incredibl…

A kickass experience every time! The only way the family enjoys going to the movies. Keep up the excellent viewing experience!
nothing too special, the decor is pretty lame, but I mean, it's a pretty cheap movie theater, especially on Tuesdays.
Good food and comfortable seats. Prices are reasonable. I'm looking forward to returning again soon.
You can't beat a $2 matinee. Comfortable seating and cherry-vanilla Dr. Pepper. What's not to like?
