Morris and Gama practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures. staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. X-rays
With the i-CAT 3-D imaging system, Drs. Gama and Morris can capture precise images and panoramic x-rays. This advanced machine exposes patients to significantly less radiation exposure than traditional x-ray equipment while obtaining more detailed images. These scans allow us to provide the most precise diagnoses and treatment planning. We are also able to optimize your treatment process because a single scan provides highly detailed, 3-D views of both the soft and hard tissues, including the craniofacial structures.

Drs. Gama and Morris were recently published in the April issue of Missoula Valley Lifestyle Magazine to help draw attention to the need for oral cancer screenings.

A porcelain crown. The visible part of the restoration is a porcelain crown that is designed with the specifications to fit in perfectly with the patient’s natural teeth. Oral Surgery
Depending on the severity of the injuries you have sustained, initially, most patients who experience facial trauma will be seen by a doctor. However, once they are satisfied that your condition is stable and that you aren’t at risk of any significant complications, you may then be recommended to speak to oral surgery specialists to plan the next stages of your care.
Jaw Surgery
We offer several types of jaw surgery to correct injuries, as well as congenital defects. Lower jaw surgery can address a severe underbite. We may use screws to realign your mandible, or we can reposition your broken or damaged jaw with a splint or wires. With a frenectomy, we will remove excess skin between your upper lip and gums; this extra tissue can cause speech impediments and dental misalignment. Learn more
Maxillofacial Surgery
That following year he entered the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed his residency in 1998. Upon graduation, he moved to beautiful Missoula, Montana where he joined the practice of Robert Torgerson and Mark Nedrud, at Oral Surgical Associates.
Tooth Extractions
As dentists, we are committed to helping you preserve your natural teeth for as long as possible. As such, removing a tooth is always the last resort. Nevertheless, there are times when tooth extraction is the best course of action. Here’s what you need to know about the reasons why we might recommend extraction and what you can expect to happen.
Bone Grafting
During a bone grafting procedure, your surgeon will administer anesthesia to ensure your absolute comfort throughout treatment. Next, he will create an incision in the gums. With the jaw bone exposed, he will transplant donor tissue to the weakened area and secure it in place with small screws. Finally, the gums are sutured closed to facilitate healing. Patients will be prescribed antibiotics to ensure healthy recovery. Over the course of three to nine months, the transplanted tissue will become fused to the existing jaw bone tissue. In some cases, we can expedite healing with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, a process of administering concentrated growth factors harvested from a sample of the patient's own blood.

He was born and raised in Wyoming. He attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1982 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology. That same year he was accepted to the University of Creighton’s School of Dentistry graduating in 1986 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). Upon graduating he practiced General Dentistry for seven years in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
