Dental Examination
Dr. Delorme will need to see you for a consultation to perform an oral exam and determine the severity of your orthodontic alignment. X-rays may also be taken.
X-rays
We are constantly being exposed to background radiation throughout our daily lives and this is often much higher than the radiation emitted from dental x-rays. X-rays are also only taken intermittently and only as often as is necessary.
Oral Cancer Screening

Teeth Cleaning
Don’t forget to floss between all of your teeth, as this is ⅓ of all of the surfaces of your teeth in the mouth. Failing to do this will lead to cavities or even gum disease. It’s also crucial that you attend regular dental cleanings to remove plaque buildup which is difficult to remove yourself.
Fluoride Treatment

Fillings
Crowns
As the final step, Dr. Delorme will fill up the tooth with gutta percha, which is a special material that replaces the pulp and strengthens the tooth. Then, he will cover it up with a temporary filling or crown. Your child will typically need to come back for a future appointment to get a permanent crown, which will protect their tooth from further damage.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is used to reshape and improve your child’s teeth. In this procedure, Dr. Delorme will add tooth-colored dental resin to your child’s tooth. He will trim, sculpt, shape, and mold this resin to fix issues like minor chips, uneven teeth, small teeth, and more. Dental bonding doesn’t require any enamel removal, and it’s also fast and affordable, so it’s a great option for kids and teens.

Pulpotomy
If there’s a baby tooth with a severe cavity, a pulpotomy can remove the decayed tissue that has likely reached the nerve, causing pain.
Root Canal Treatment
The pulp is filled with the blood vessels and nerves that keep your child’s tooth alive. As it becomes infected, this causes serious pain and discomfort. Infections will eventually kill the tooth, so a root canal is the best option for restoring their tooth and their oral health.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
The removal of the wisdom tooth is considered oral surgery but it's a simple procedure, but might take longer if the tooth hasn't broken through the gum or the bone.
Jaw Surgery
Hailing from the greater Los Angeles area, Dr. Edward Balasanian graduated Cum Laude from California State University at Northridge in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. After earning his dental degree at the UCLA School of Dentistry, Dr. Balasanian found his true calling. He remembers his first time in the operating room during a corrective jaw surgery as the moment he decided that a career in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery would be his profession of choice. He earned the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award for the UCLA School of Dentistry graduating class of 2001.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Balasanian attended the combined 6-year MD-Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, graduating in 2004. He completed his general surgery internship and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, completing the program in 2007 after serving as Chief Resident for the program in his final year.
Tooth Extractions

Invisalign Orthodontics

Then, your child will use a set of whitening products and their whitening trays to whiten their smile in the comfort of their own home. They’ll usually wear the trays for about an hour a day for 2-3 weeks. This is a great option if you know your child will be diligent about wearing their trays.
