Dr. Amra went on to receive her medical degree (M.D) from Rush Medical College in Chicago where she discovered her love for Ophthalmology and performed cutting retinal research with some of the most world-renowned Ophthalmologists. Dr. Amra continued at Rush University Medical Center for her general surgery internship and Ophthalmology residency training. Described as a “Gifted Surgeon” by her mentors, Dr. Amra served as the Chief resident in her Ophthalmology program at Rush University.
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Omar Ozgur is a board-certified ophthalmologist fellowship trained in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Ozgur obtained his BS in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to medical school, Dr. Ozgur worked as a software engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. He completed his internship at the University of Hawaii, followed by ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt. Sinai. He then completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) accredited fellowship at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Medical Center.
