Food was good. Taco was excellent, enchiladas and tamale was good, rice and beans excellent. I didn't care for salsa with chips; who cares, everything else was good.
No AC in the facility and food was blah and small portions. The fans were not working and the service was alright
Good food - and easy take out. I like the location, and hope they will build a restaurant on the east side.
The only one of its kind and remarkable taste that they can provide in here is truly one of the most satisfying and worthwhile thing that I have ever tasted in my life, closest to that home cooking that we all tend to miss.
Great Sunday deal for drinks I go there almost every Sunday. Only downside is the bar I pretty small but the bartenders do a good job on getting you a drink. Pretty good good too.
We were passing through town and happened to read the reviews on El Azteca. It seemed 50/50, and I felt in the gambling mood, and I have no regrets. The service was fast, the salsa is awesome and the fajitas are even better! I honestly don't understand the other reviews unless things have recently changed for the better. We were not disappointed, and might I add I was recently in Mexico, so I'm not saying these things from inexperience, not to mention I was born and raised in California.......we know Mexican in Cali :-)
Beware unethical practices at Chevys Fresh Mex in Bloomington. They are involved in a car-for-ransom scam where they will have your car towed and impounded by Elite Towing, a contracted wrecking service with a terrible reputation. Chevys does not have a clearly designated parking lot in some areas. If you mistake that portion of their lot for the parking area for another restaurant, or for Mall of America overflow parking, they will arrange to have the scam put into operation: tow your car and hold it for ransom. Only $220 cash (no other payment method is acceptable) will be demanded, and no receipt will be provided. They run this scam during the Holidays when there is a lot of traffic confusion around MOA. Some families cannot pay the ransom, so they may go without a car for the Holidays. Others may be able to gather enough cash to pay the ransom, but then go without a Christmas. How the money is split between Elite Towing and Chevys is not clear. But what is clear is that Chevys is a place you want to avoid.
Checked this place out with the girlfriend one night when we felt like Mexican food. it doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is definitely worth going inside. I got the mixed fajitas. They came out sizzling and tasted even better than they looked. The meat was well seasoned, and the vegetables fresh. I only wish there had been more of the latter. The $12/bottle wine was very good, too. We'll definitely be making this a regular eating place for date night!
It's small, and the yard statues are interesting, but the food and service is really good. They had $12 bottles of wine and quality food.. try it!
My favorite restaurant of all the restaurants in the shops at West End. I love the tomatilla salad which I always get with steak. Delicious! I crave it often. I might even drive over there after Iu write this because just talking about it makes me want it! I've also had the sea bass entrée a few times and that is also fantastic. Try the grilled corn cobbs - OMG! The best corn cobbs I've ever had. A great restaurant, you won't be disappointed!!
