I 1st went to the people at Twin Cities to find out how to get gold & silver. They took the time to help me pick out just what I needed to protect myself. I walked in with an idea and walked out with it in my hands, not having to wait weeks or months like I would have if I sent my money away for an online buy. Now all this was over a year ago and I needed to sell just a few days ago, and they not only paid me on the spot but I had made alot on my gold. I will buy from them again and again, and would tell you to do the same. Trust them as I did. Tom

This was by far the most horrible experience I ever encountered. We brought in a solid sterling silver WWII vase (weight - 1 1/2 pounds). We were greeted nicely by the lady at the front counter - their silver expert was another story. He treated us so rudely that we left there in total disgust. What further made us angry, is they were HIGHLY recommended. By what standards does the TV station use? (Yes, I suspect they will withdraw their recommendation after I contacted them about our experience).
Not only did the so called expert walk away from us (which is against store policy) he abandoned us in the middle of store, no one was around to ask further questions. When I mean he walked away, I mean just that. He acted as if we were bothering him. We told him who recommended us, we treated him with respect for his knowledge, and he was so extremely rude - it was obvious they do not have a clue what ""Customer Service"" means. He walked away so fast, that we did not even get a chance to ask him to weigh the piece, and as I said .... we were left abandoned in the middle of store.
We wound up taking a WWII piece to another silver broker, a difference between day and night, and left there extremely satisfied. Not only did we leave the other broker satisfied, they paid us TOP dollar ($18.00 an ounce) they also paid us a fantastic price for our gold scrap and coins. All of which we were ready to get offers from Twin Cities Gold and Silver Exchange. Obviously - they have enough business or they would not treat customers like they did us.
If you like being treated like you are bothering them with questions, treated horribly, then by all means, experience TWIN CITIES GOLD AND SILVER EXHANGE IN ST. LOUIS PARK. I for one have contacted all my antique and professional friends, turning their business away from such a horrible establishment.
Go for it folks if that is how you like to be treated. There is REPUTABLE and great buyers in the Twin Cities that respect your business and want your business.
I went to this store to get $ for gold (over $1,000 worth given to me by The Gold Guys at MOA); the guy was on the phone when I came in; stayed on the phone for 10 minutes; totally ignored me. Then when he was off the phone with his insurance company, I asked him for an estimate for my gold. He looked at me and said, "You want an estimate?" I said, "Yes." He looked at the bag and said, "Well I can give you a rough weight if you want." He took the bag in the back and said, "I will give you $600 for it." I said, "Are you kidding?" I told him that Pawn America offered to give me $1067.00 for it (which they weighed each piece individually). He scoffed and said, "We get this stuff by the tons." I replied, "So it's not worth your time." He said, "Like I said, we get this stuff in loads."
What a joke of a place to take your gold. I can't believe it stays in business!

NO ONE!!! knows jewelry, costume and fine, like David Friedell. I've spent my life collecting jewelry and David has spent his life evaluating it. David is an invaluable resource across the boards regarding value, quality, scarcity and workmanship. He tells great stories regarding origins too. David can be counted on to ALWAYS tell you how to maximize a pieces value to meet the goals that I have regarding a pieces next life and owner.
David's expertise also include impeccable credentials regarding gold and silver items in all of their possible manifestations and incarnations.
