I have been taking my animals to Blue Cross for 10 years. I have taken a cat and 3 dogs there over the years. These women (it is all women) are some of the most compassionate and attentive doctors I have encountered. They have diagnosed major ailments and minor injuries with the same level of concern every time. My dogs actually like going to the vet because they know they are going to get lots of cookies and love from the people there. If there is something they can't do, they will refer you to someone who can (My lab needed hip surgery and they urged me to take her to the U of M, which was the best choice). As long as I am in the Cities, I will use Blue Cross.
My first experience was with our 17 1/2 year old cat. She had a tumor that had caused an infection and didn't have the strength to go through an operation that may not have worked. The whole staff was just wonderful with CeBe and our family. This was very different from the year before when we had to have our 19 year old cat put down at another clinic. That clinic was very cold and impersonal. I'll take the warm fuzziness any day - it helps get you through the rough times.
I have taken my dog and now one of my cats to this animal hospital and find all the vets to be very compassionate and caring. They listen to the pet owners concern and take all the time necessary. And they really work hard to keep the costs down and that is much appreciated.
I LOVE this vet. I have two five-year-old toy poodles. We've been heading to Blue Cross Animal Hospital since their birth. The staff is great, the vets are knowledgeable, they listen and care about our animals. We had a toy poodle previously for fourteen years. We took her to Minneahaha Animal Hospital on Chicago Ave. It was fine, but Minnehaha was much more expensive and I find at Blue Cross I don't have to wait as long, they are more relaxed and it's a heck of a lot cheaper!
My parents have been going to Blue Cross Animal Hospital since I was a pup and now my adult children go there as well with their pets. The staffs over the years have always been very qualified and compassionate! One of our pets had a rare disease and the staff went above and beyond to connect nationally for the best treatment. When our dog was at the end of life the staff's understanding and compassion for our loss was such a comfort during such a difficult time. Over the years I have lived in different suburbs of the Twin Cities and never hesitate to drive to Blue Cross Animal Hospital for my pets care.
These guys have been great with my dogs needs, every thing from yearly check ups to major items. My male dog when first rescue had ring worm and tape worm and had all kids of intestinal issues, the docs there gave advice to help him get on the right track, My female dog had been attack by a another dog and she had comforted my wife and gave my dog life saving advice to get her up the road to a surgery team
My dog Zambezi died on April 20th 2012 and was in the care of Doc Kathleen, She worked my dog for a long time, giving over the counter meds instead high price prescriptions. She worked every angle and to the end let us have the hard news that we saw with my dog. I could not be more grateful for her approach. I called 2 days before and she wished my dog well into the next life. I still have one more dog that sees her. Thank you Blue cross Animal hospital for the care you have given my dogs, Thank You
"Although we have since moved farther out from the area, we have decided that Blue Cross Animal Hospital can't be replaced. They will continue to be our vet as they have been for over 3 years.
They are especially excellent, although all have been very good. She is knowledgeable, caring, intuitive, and the pets trust her as much as I do."
These vets are the best! My cat had breathing issues that were not easily diagnosed because his lungs were clear. Scariest thing to watch your pet struggle to breathe. He was in and out of the vet for three days. She was so very caring to both me and my cat James. I couldn't have asked for better care - and the cost was not astronomical.
I have used Blue Cross for our pet's healthcare for about 18 years. They have care for our puppies, and have administered end of life care for our old and sick pet's. All of the doctors and staff have been professional, informative, and compassionate. I do not give five stars lightly, but because of the importance of animals in our life I would not go to a veterinarian that did rate five stars in my personal estimation.
I feel compelled to write about this clinic. We have gone there for nearly 25 years, after it being recommended by friends who had gone there nearly 5 years. During this time, we have had 3 dogs (2 Old English Sheepdogs and 1 LhasaPoo). Over time, I believe we have seen all the doctors. Each and every visit has been wonderful. The are all helpful and compassionate, including the receptionists and tech reps. My LhasaPoo can get very nippy, especially when his ears are in pain, and they take it all in stride. I would recommend anyone to this clinic at any time.

I have always been treated well at B C with all 3 of my dogs, 2 of them have since passed since my first visit. We usually see Dr Amy or Kathleen both have been very helpful, along with Deb.
They have advised me, seen us on short notice, etc.. I think the one review stating that someone was ""lectured"" was a highlight for me. Perhaps that person needed to be lectured and I would rather have someone tell me the straight forward truth then beat arounfd the bush and save my feelings or risk making me angry..
There are a lot of bad pet owners out there.

I have been going here for 10 years now, referred by a friend who is a ""dog fanatic."" When I die I want to come back as her dog!
I recently lost my dog through an accident, and they were as compassionate, caring, thorough yet conservative with expenses as possible. I found them to care a whole lot while not being ""mushy."" After losing my pet when he got referred for emergency surgery, they were very compassionate and remembered to mention him to me when bringing my new dog. They are enthusiastic with their support, truthful and honest and to the point, and inexpensive for their professional services.
I have had to take my pet other places two times, and if I thought that was better for my animal I would not hesitate to change. I continue to come to all of the doctors at Blue Cross (I don't have a favorite), and trust them with my pet above anyone else.

Dr Kristi and the staff at Blue Cross Animal have gone above and beyond for my pets. As the owner of a diabetic dog, now since passed away, I completely and absolutely trusted Dr. Kristi with his care. She was always compassionate, caring, and is very knowledgable. I now have a new puppy that I will only take to Dr. Kristi and the wonderful staff at BCAH. All of my animals have been well cared for at BCAH. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

I am amazed to see someone post critical remarks regarding Dr. Flynn's bedside manner and almost wonder if they are confusing her with one of the other vets at this clinic. Dr. Flynn is friendly, genuinely interested in people and their animals. I would trust her with any of my dogs, implicitly. All of the work she has done on my dogs has been stellar. I would follow her to another clinic if she left. Please don't let that one negative review fool you.

Dr. Kristi has been absolutely wonderful to myself and my dog (a Bloodhound who is not a big fan of going to the vet) for three years now. She also treats my friend's Old English Sheep Dog. We both honestly feel she has taken the time to get to know both us and our dogs. When there is a health issue, she takes the time to research and explain treatment options, giving us the information we need. She is willing to recommend other facilities for things like physical therapy. She is very positive and upbeat, as well. I can't imagine anyone I'd trust more with my pet.
