We were passing through town and happened to read the reviews on El Azteca. It seemed 50/50, and I felt in the gambling mood, and I have no regrets. The service was fast, the salsa is awesome and the fajitas are even better! I honestly don't understand the other reviews unless things have recently changed for the better. We were not disappointed, and might I add I was recently in Mexico, so I'm not saying these things from inexperience, not to mention I was born and raised in California.......we know Mexican in Cali :-)
A group from our office went here on a friday for lunch and had wonderful service. The server knew we were on a short time schedule offered without our asking to split our checks and gave to us very promptly, he ask if we needed addtional items, this was so nice. So many time you are trying to track down your server or having to ask for separate checks it so nice that the server asked in advance without us having to ask. The food was great, it came out hot and they offer a smaller portion sized lunch great feature.
Check your total very carefully at the register before you pay. I've been there three times in the past week and they've charged me the wrong price for a burrito bowl every single time. I'd sure be nice to order a bowl there without having to argue with the cashier to get the price as listed on their menu. Otherwise the food is very nice. Meat is cooked within view, tortillas are pressed right in front of you, and veggies are fresh. Once they fix the pricing issue I'd recommend it to anyone.
I have grown up on the food here at pepitos mexican restraunt, and continue to go there today. It brings me back to my childhood memories everytime I go back there. I love the food, and the hospitality and the omniance is great. I just wish they would put one in maple grove, MN. closer to where I live. So how about it Sue and Joe, please open up one in maple grove. You will never find another mexican food place with that great of food, and it's all authentic.
My favorite restaurant of all the restaurants in the shops at West End. I love the tomatilla salad which I always get with steak. Delicious! I crave it often. I might even drive over there after Iu write this because just talking about it makes me want it! I've also had the sea bass entrée a few times and that is also fantastic. Try the grilled corn cobbs - OMG! The best corn cobbs I've ever had. A great restaurant, you won't be disappointed!!
El Loro is one of my favorite new restaurants! FAST service, you get your order within 10 minutes; and snack on free chips/salsa until your meal comes. The steak quesadilla is my favorite; huge portions and lots of flavor. Margaritas are perfect, try the Texas Margarita! The atomosphere is not perfect, but it doesnt need to be. The food speaks for itself, yum!!!
I have the pickest significant other and he LOVES everything at this restaurant!. We have had several of his birthday parties there and they have been more then accomidating to us bringing in decorations and helping us set up. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their white sauce for the nachos! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good Mexican food!
El Loro has great, authentic Mexican food at a VERY reasonable price. Dinner for two (with soda - not alcoholic drinks) runs less than $20, including tip. You get chips and salsa and a ranch type sauce free, which is really nice. The portions are large and the food is delicious. Also try the Margaritas - they are great!
The only one of its kind and remarkable taste that they can provide in here is truly one of the most satisfying and worthwhile thing that I have ever tasted in my life, closest to that home cooking that we all tend to miss.
Excellent food, superior service. A tad pricy. You can visit after an evening at Orchestra Hall and enjoy dessert at the bar, or in the nice weather, sit outside and people watch. Truly a great place - GO Now!
