Affordable movers were great! They got to my daughters apartment in Milwaukee on time and wasted no time in loading her things and made it to Downers Grove, Illinois in record time! They came in hundreds of dollars cheaper then any of the other movers that I called. And honestly I called at least 10 other moving companies! They took care in moving things and wrapped the few items that needed to be protected. For the price I would definitely use them again!! 7/27/16
I asked for and received a quote after a couple weeks waiting. I agree to the quote of nearly $8000 with a delivery window of 2-3 weeks. After almost 3 weeks waiting for a confirmation, i called the mover and they told me nothing had been finalized, pushing my moving date by at least a month. This is the most unprofessional company I have worked with in years.
All The Right Moves have moved me twice this past year and both moves were done quickly with respect for my items and the houses I was leaving and moving in to. They have their own blankets, plastic wrap for dressers and use the blankets as rugs if necessary. They were honest and fairly priced too!
I would recommend these guys to anybody the owners is very nice they know what they are doing because they have years and years of experience I would prefer to go with them over any big moving company
Horrible experience. We were quoted $1324 for the packing portion of the move and given a target delivery time of 6 days. After we moved to our new placed we were notified that no one is available to deliver our possessions for another two weeks. And the new target delivery time is the week when both my husband and I will be out of town. We notified Schroeder about this and were ignored. We were forced to contact a second moving company in order to get our possessions in a reasonable time frame. Once we received our things I realized that most of the boxes were packed half full at best - there were jumbo boxes with two bottles or wine or a lamp shade - and we were being charged for each box. This is at best dishonest and essentially theft. In addition, the glass shelves in the curio hutch were broken or missing because they were carelessly wrapped in thin sheets of paper. Meanwhile they bubble wrapped by tupperware. And to top it all off, the final bill is $1900+ even though the actual weight was nearly 100 lb lighter than estimate. Of course we called Schroeder again. This time we were told this new bill includes an extra "warehouse holding fee" and that it's my husband's fault for not overseeing the movers during the packing process. In summary, this is an unscrupulous and dishonest company.
We've moved internationally and from coast to coast. Our experience with JC Triplett & Sons Moving Company exceeded our expectations. Mr. Triplett and Janell were on time when they arrived to give me a quote. I instantly felt they would give me the special care of a privately owned company and the professionalism of a National moving company. Janell promptly answered all my questions before our move. On the moving day, the good looking trucks pulled up and the guys were ready! Lorenzo, introduced himself as the man in charge. He and his crew were polite and courteous. They worked hard ensuring everything was properly wrapped and secured on the truck. They were helpful in placement of our furnishings. When all was unloaded, Lorenzo asked me if there was anything else he could do to be helpful. Janell called a few days later for feed back on our move and to thank me for choosing them. I would recommend JC Triplett and Sons Moving Company to all my family and friends.
I don't know who write the reviews here. Three guys did my moving. Took double the time compared to other previous moving company I used and they charge $120 an hour. You do the math. I had to pay $800 for 1 bedroom and 8 miles distance. I see some damages to my furniture also.
So I've moved a few times and it seems like the experience has always gotten worse and worse. Bill and team completely changed that trend! They showed up right on time for the move to Wauwatosa. I had a 2 bedroom (queen bed, dresser, chest, and night stands), office, dining room, and living room with a flat screen TV to move. They brought a truck with plenty of space and carefully wrapped up everything. The few times I helped they were very thankful.Overall this was the perfect moving experience. They're great guys, very focused on the job, and have completely changed my mind when it comes to movers. If I ever find myself needing to move again I'll definitely be using JIm and team again. Do yourself a favor and don't look any further than these guys.
I was lucky enough to have a friend recommend Hernia Movers to move from our three story town house to another three story house. We have had terrible moving experiences in the past, but had Hernia Movers move us this morning. I couldn't wait to write a review so that other people will hopefully know how great these guys are and not go through the hell of terrible movers the next time they have to move. We had three guys and they brought their moving truck. All of our furniture, even very large pieces, was moved down the stairs from the old house and then back up the stairs at our new place without a single scratch on our walls or furniture. They arrived right on time and were very friendly and professional. We were in contact with Will to set everything up. They finished the job ahead of schedule which was great because we saved money. Other movers in the past have taken their sweet time in order to charge more hourly. Super frustrating. Anyway, we could not be happier with our moving experience this time around. Definitely call these guys next time you have to move.
LIARS & THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!Have used this company several times prior to this last time and they had always done great work. NEVER AGAIN. Scheduling of my move with Bill went fine. Then moving day came. Arrived late at 8:40 am. Told me they would not move hot tub as scheduled because it was not disconnected. I proceeded to disconnect tub and when finished I let them know. They were not happy. I asked them to start in garage with boxes and they did exactly OPPOSITE of what I asked. They were very rude when asked any question. They knocked over boxes and bookshelves in my kids room, lost screws and bolts on 2 beds they dismantled. After packing for one hour, they went out to start hot tub move. They stood outside looking at it for an $180/hour and then came into my house at 10:42 am and said they were not moving hot tub and were heading to my new house. Half my house was still not packed. I asked them to take the rest of my packed items and furniture. They said NO and that they had scheduled a five hour move and they needed an hour to drive and two hours to unload. They had only spent an hour packing and my new house was 3 miles away. REALLY??? They had brought two trucks based on the size of my home and didn't even leave with one full. Upon calling the office I could not reach Bill who I had worked with for all my arrangements. I said the crew needed to come back and get the rest of the stuff. They told me they would not be coming back and that I needed to meet them at the new house to take delivery of my items. Lance (acting manager on that day) was obnoxious and verbally abusive and would not even discuss what his movers had left behind and the work they did not do. The movers left so much undone: outdoor dining set with six chairs and 3 tables, 40 boxes in basement (4 without tops that infuriated the movers somehow), 7 pieces of big artwork, huge outdoor grill, 4 bookcases, living room area rug, 4 kitchen chairs and kitchen table and more. I said I would not take delivery of my items they did have until they picked up the remainder. Lance said not only would they NOT get my other items, that I could not have the furniture of mine they did have unless I paid $500, and I could come to their offices to pick up my furniture. There were no other moving companies available on such short notice. I went to their office to talk to Hernia Movers and they would not even talk to me - Lance motioned to one of the men in my group to indicate he would talk to him but not me. Hernia Movers not only wasted a day of mine off work to move, but held my items hostage. I was forced to hire people off the street at $20/hour to help me move and go hire a U-Haul two days in a row to get the job done. I've spent over $1600 in bribe fees to get my stuff back and hiring strangers to help and moving trucks. I lost another day of work. I have pieces missing from the beds and they cannot be assembled so my children and I are sleeping on the floor. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BEEN TREATED SO HORRIBLY by the entire staff of HERNIA MOVERS. The movers were rude, mean and disrespectful not to mention slow and unprofessional. It's sad to see this company lose respect in this community. They used to be such great movers! I used them often and recommended them to everyone I knew about how hard working they were.

Long-distance moves are much more complicated to plan, typically requiring you to pay numerous extra expenses for everything from shipping items to renting storage space.

Look for Reviews and Recommendations
When hiring movers, it's a good idea to both look at reviews online and ask your friends and family members for recommendations. Personal endorsements will go a long way toward helping you determine whether you can expect the company to do a quick and professional job.

For both local and long-distance moving companies, AMSA is another good place to check out a company's legitimacy. Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.
