This place used to be really good, but they have gone WAY down hill, sliding on gelatinous Lava sauce the entire way. I ordered Lava Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Pork Fried Rice and their Green Beans. But the problems started far before I even got there to pick up my order. The man rushed me through my order, pushing me to name the next thing quickly so that I would understand ho busy he was and how inconvenient my order was to him. In any case, he told me it would be ready in 25. I arrived in 40 minutes, thinking I'd be in and out. No suck luck. The rude blonde woman at the counter told me it would be another 15 minutes and that she told me that when I called. I told her I didn't talk to her, that I spoke to a man. She then found my order, offered me no apology, but told m it would be another 10 minutes or so.
But the worst part of it was the food itself. We threw away the Lava Chicken because the chicken had clearly been sitting around to long - had that indescribable taste of old chicken. The Pork Fried Rice also got checked - it had more huge chunks of mostly fatty pork that it had rice. The beans were pretty good, although they have way too much pork in them. I know when I want a vegetable, I want more vegetable. Lastly, the sesame chicken - now, that was good. And, the white rice was fine, too.
Time to find a new Chinese Restaurant in Milwaukee. The Emperor has clearly left this one, and in his place he has left children.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Emperor is the absolute best place to eat Chinese in this city. They have great food and great service and a very very nice atmosphere. They always greet you with a smile and you can tell they are people who want their customers satisfied! Very decent prices. This is my favorite spot =)

Emperor of China has really gone downhill, I'm sad to say. I love their employees but their delivery now takes 1.5-2 hours which is absolutely ridiculous. It used to be that Emperor used only fresh, quality ingredients in their dishes, but the last few times I have eaten there in the past year, they have served canned, bad-tasting Chinese vegetables and an over-powering dirty skillet taste in all my dishes. I used to be able to confidently order anything off the menu. I can still rely on the following dishes from there: Willow Beef, your basic fried rice and a really tasty appetizer--Sweet Potatoes Tempura. However, they used to have really great, fresh-tasting Lo-mein and Ho-fun noodle dishes that are now just yucky canned vegetables and nasty oil tumped into a skillet of noodles. Orange Peel Beef, Kung-pao chicken and Mu-shu Pork have also started to be dominated by canned vegetables/sauce. Blech. Their vegetarian dishes are also no longer reliable--undercooked tofu is fresh in my memory. For the fine-dining prices they charge, this is strip-mall pseudo-Chinese food. Until they get some quality control back, I'm done waiting 2 hours for a 50% chance of eating something that tastes like La Choy from a can.
I love the food here .. some great options, however they have new waiting staff every now & then, so make sure & ensure that the new person (or ANY wait staff for that matter) clearly hear what you have said.
I got the following
* Tsing Tao Beer
* Sky & Sea Emperor's Dish (chicken & shrimp .. spicy!)
* Eight Tresure Vegetables (veggie)
* Kung Pao Tofu .. (with Peanuts) with hoisin sauce .. (veggie)
All dishes were great .. Just wish they were some peanuts in the last item .. there werent any.
Thanks a lot though -- great place to eat & great ambience.

Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! This is the best Chinese food I have ever found anywhere! When I am back home in Milwaukee I always make sure to stop by here at least once for dinner or lunch. When my boyfriend lived in Milwaukee, we used to order delivery from here all the time. The guy who answers the phone is awesome. Very friendly. Quick for pick-up too. I wish I could find a Chinese food place at least half-way as good as this in California. No luck so far. :( Many good choices on the large menu.
